RD 125 LC with 180cc kit did that nicely with gas only. I have ridden that. I have owned 125 and 250 RD LC's too, 1984 and 1982, but they needed clutch to wheelie.
yyyeeeeeesss. 125 two strokes have insane power to size, weight and power to displacement. 250 singl cylinders are nice but a higher revving twin cylinder 250 would, and does have like and extra 30 percent power increase. I love it

Very, very impressive. I got me first license endorsement on an LD150 in 1969 when I was just 15 years old, and didn't actually have a license. I am not sure that I'd have survived owning something like this while still in my teens.
@@nickcoppard5335 I was 15, and year away from getting a bike license. For some reason I had painted a big LD on the front of the scooter with the L on one side and the D on the other. You Guys will not have heard of me, but you will know of my Work. I am now 71 Years old, and way back in 1965 I was the originator of the Lambretta 'Strip down' Scooter design, that you lot call a 'Skeleton'. They were going for £15 a time then (TWO weeks Apprentice Wages), so I had no problem chopping them down on the Steering column, removing the body shroud, fitting a single seat, tiny tank and making what you now call the "Kneeler". I got bored with having my Scooters stolen, so swapped the first one for a genuine British Royal Enfield Bullet with a Glasgow Gallowgate bike dealer who was so pleased with the novelty of it, he started making them calling them "Lamb Chops". Just a little Scooter History that you would not know of. Its good to see you Folk keeping the Faith. Finally. Death to ALL Vespas !!! . .
I got a 250cc Lambretta from the 90s. Not a twin cam. Had an ST165 Toyota that I crashed running down the Seaham casuals. I was only a teenager at the time. I would have got bored on a 125 so they sold me a Lambretta and swapped the barrel on it. Fastest Learner plate bike I ever had.
The vicious, pull-your-arms-off power band of a 2T Honda CR500 transferred to a Lambretta isn't going to suit many. So, how about developing a lower revving exhaust system that gives far less top end but a much more linear delivery of power and torque? How about 45 BHP (more than enough for most!) but with tractability that even my missus could handle? This would be a similar concept to fitting a box exhaust rather than an expansion pipe on a "standard" tuned Lambretta engine. Exhausts designed for less volatile power delivery could also be more compact and might therefore resolve the obvious "packaging" issues of having two tin whales hanging under the motor. Like a box exhaust, they could be shaped to precisely conform to the shape of the engine.
Just in the way many sports cars are for most. It’s the pinnacle of scooter exotica but still cheaper than the cost of the upgrades an owner would typically spend on just the brake upgrades on a Ferrari.
With purposely jumbled up mechanisms to hold two scooters where sat one- engine, and the resultant scooter miracle on the original frame made to run with so much power : it is a definite amusement to the gate keepers of the Pearly gates at the end of the ride...
I helped a rude boy mate tweak his 250 Lambretta, the power band was terrifying, like riding a toilet at over 100 Kms but there was no allowance for pooping yourself & it wasn't 1/3 or this mini beast.
I should really get back into the 2T Scooter scene, so many advancements since i stopped modding/following the development, was in the Minareli circle. This Lambretta must be a blast, auto 2T were getting wicked fast many years back, like PMTuning's Italjet they held records with, If this had a inner rotor ignition setup and 35mm carbs it'd be wild, dare i say un-ridable even more so with wheelies
That small tyres, narrow roads, unpredictable brake, so much power from the engine, perfect last ride.
The brakes are actually realy good.
I hear yeha, been riding since I was five (48 now) and all my broken bones have come from scooter accidents!
I was thinking the same, seems ripe for failure
You could literally be going 20mph through an intersection and a careless driver make it your last ride.
But what a ride it would be
There's no clear limits for what a "widowmaker" is, but this is clearly at the center of that definition
So around the same power as a standard Lambretta until 8000rpm then it shoots to 76hp and kills you. I know my limits and that's WAY above them.
Christalive! That is nuts!!!
Absolute insanity!! 75 ponies on a step through! Couldn’t think of anything scarier 😮
