H everyone! I filmed this back in 2nd year and decided not to post it back then as was worried it may be triggering for some viewers. Pls be mindful there is a discussion about childhood trauma in the video. I hope it’s useful x
I can’t say how much I appreciate this video, I’m one of those people which you mentioned, I’m a medical doctor which I was not happy with my country and immigrated somewhere to start my journey again in my forties, some days I feel helpless and desperate, it could be very tough studying again and passing all the exams and managing a family and worrying about money, sometimes I think maybe this door doesn’t work, maybe this is not even a door, and I need to forget about the medicine. I follow you Rebecca and yesterday I noticed this new video in one of my worst hopeless days, and just cried all over the video. I wrote here since you should know your journey has been amazing and you are my role model. I thought Rebecca did it, so I will do it, I don’t want to give up on my dream❤
Im so happy for you! Been watching your journey into med school because i want to apply as well im a mom and in 36 yrs old. Thank you for sharing your journey to us, you inspired me to not give up. Goodluck and congratulations Rebecca!❤
New here!, I am a 17 year old in the uk who has finished applying to medical school and done my interviews. I was feeling quite disappointed in myself post-interview. I was about to give up my medicine dreams as I thought I was too stupid. My mother works a lot as shes a single parent so I feel like a burden, sometimes I experience insults about my intelligence from both family and friends and that reinforces the belief that I am not good enough to be a doctor. Today, was a very tough day for me. I thought this was it for me. But hearing your story. Seeing you pursuing your dreams in an unconventional way. Shows me that if I want it badly enough then it will happen for me. I just need to have a good work ethic and stick to it. Thanks a lot. Cheers!
Please ignore their comments. Ignore anyone who thinks you can't do it. And check out some of the subliminals here on youtube to help you replace them with positive affirmation. Keep going x
Thank you so much for this video, Rebecca! I am an engineer who is deeply unsatisfied with my job. This might be the very video that pushes me over the edge to apply for med school and make a bigger impact!
Hearing you gives me strength Rebecca, i had a similar childhood with an absentee parent who drank. You are such a strong person and I would be honoured to have a doctor with such empathy.
Thank you for sharing your story, this brought me to tears for good reasons. It brings me so much inspiration. I wish you every success in achieving your goal of becoming an MD and I believe you would make a good and compassionate MD, please never lose that. Through such adversity you overcame and I love you for that. Bless you ❤
Hi Rebecca, I can’t tell you how inspiring and impactful I found this video. I’m starting university at 23 and despite it only being a few years from 18, I did not begin my education then due to a lot of trauma in my childhood that I hadn’t processed which ultimately hindered my self belief and worth. I can really relate to your video in regard to having had an extremely hard childhood which led to a lower self worth and how it can impact your choices leading into adulthood, I actually teared up as it really struck home. Seeing your journey and TH-cam channel inspires me immensely with following my heart and my true self. Thank you so much Rebecca 💛🙏🏻

After your much Unlucky and much Unfair childhood, to get where you are - You are very inspiring. I’m not sure if you’re in first year medicine since you mentioned 3 yrs left but what your thoughts and your advice be for a mother of 2 kids ,6 yrs old and 4 yrs old ( very little sleep ). Is the studying possible for me ? I should add , I’m an older parent. Also, did you have to upgrade your high school diploma first as I have to here in Canada ?
I just read what you wrote, I apologize. So it was your second year. My question was how hard has the studying been so far ? Do you think it’s doable for a mother with 2 little kids that has to start from scratch ? Thank you for your time💜
YOU ARE AMAZING!!! This is such an awesome story. I would love to consider medicine one day once I finish my nursing but I’m stressed about fitting in building a family, travelling, earning money.. you’re so motivational! Thankyou for sharing your story so honestly with us ! 🩷🩷🩷
@Rebeccabradford7611 Hello Rebecca, I hope you are well. I wanted to express my admiration for your determination and strength. You have been a source of motivation and inspiration to me. Although I loved the idea of attending medical school, I couldn't start at the right time and age. Now, at 44 years old, I am finally embarking on this journey. My first semester begins this coming Saturday, March 9, 2024. Thank you for being an inspiration to me.
