Now, I'm currently entering my fourth and final year of undergrad and have started my journey to applying for med school. Oh my gosh I've been following you since I was a senior in high school and you were starting your freshman year at Brown. I ended up going to Duke and just graduated in May of 2022, so it's really cool to see that you're going to be attending medical school there! I really loved Duke and Durham, and I'm sure you will too. I'm taking two gap years and will be applying next cycle, so I definitely will be referring to your videos come May 2023 haha.

It is so wild for me that in the US you have to go to college before you can apply to med school while where I live after i finished high school and my exams I just straight up got admitted.
ikr! i'm going from a country where i could just go straight to med school, to america. i don't mind tho bcus they have really good schools
@@aesha8689 Idk for me trying to get into a US med school wasn't worth it since it costs a fortune. Also it was kinda guaranteed that I get to attend the 2nd best med school in my country which is also considered very good amongst a lot of European unis.

Congrats, May! Best wishes to your medical study at Duke. I started following your youtube recently and it is so so~~ helpful. I have a silly question for you. Your spec seems perfect: Brown, high mcat score, perfect gpa, research, and publication. What do you think is the reason that you are not admitted to other top schools like ivies, ucsf, standford, nyu, sinai, etc. I think they also had to accept you. Of course duke, u of m, and nwu are all top schools and duke is one of the best in us. I just wonder why. My daugther is applying to Brown this Fall and planning to do premed there if she is accepted. I'd be happy to have your answer. If you cannot answer here I can give you my email. Thanks. Why was the protected 3rd year medical particularly important to you? You said you published, so perhaps you just enjoy research that much; or maybe does having this research experience set you up to be competitive for residency applications?
