We’re the Lockwoods. And we’re traveling the world to experience-up close and in person-all the natural wonders and distinct cultures that our kids would otherwise be consuming only through textbooks and TV. We think it’s a better way to learn and we’re working hard to fund this little experiment in the hope that our kids will grow up wiser, kinder, and more grateful for the beauty of our diverse planet and its people.

Jaggery is unrefined sugar. Sugar was first refined in India and prior to that we used jaggery. So, Indians have a huge sweet tooth.

India is a place where dialect, culture, food, clothes, deity everythin changes in every 50 km. you have mainly visited the cities where people have become more western influenced. had you visited the smaller areas like small towns and villages you would have experienced the cultures of india and its diversity 🙏🙏

Fishermen community is the native of Mumbai, they used to worship goddess "Mumba" and their language is Marathi. In Marathi mother is called as Aai. These people used to call the goddess Mumba as mother so the name was Mumbai (Mumba+Aai).
When Portuguese came here, they started calling it "Bombaim" meaning the good bay. When a marriage happened between Portuguese and British Royal family, Portuguese gave this place to British as "Dowry" and British changed its name to "Bombay" which also means the good bay.
In 1995 Maharashtra state government reinstated the original name Mumbai.
The word Bombay celebrates the concept of Dowry. That's why we call it Mumbai ❤

There is no evidence to suggest where the name came from, as Sopara is the only mentioned town in history, & the 7 islands do not naturally make up a city, except that the Portuguese preferred to make an island as a port.

They are probably India's most famous anytime snacks and are especially loved by kids! Think of them as the equivalent of what a pizza or classic pasta is to every child!
