  • Our family is spending the next two weeks exploring the birthplace of chess, yoga, and four major religions: India! Our travels will take us throughout Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Kochi, and Mumbai/Bombay. And since this is our first visit to this cultural cauldron, we’re relying on some experts to show us everything we need to see: From our travel club, to local guides, to an Old Delhi local I’ve been working alongside for almost a decade-without ever having met before now.

    ABOUT US
    We’re the Lockwoods. And we’re traveling the world to experience-up close and in person-all the natural wonders and distinct cultures that our kids would otherwise be consuming only through textbooks and TV. We think it’s a better way to learn and we’re working hard to fund this little experiment in the hope that our kids will grow up wiser, kinder, and more grateful for the beauty of our diverse planet and its people.

    I'm more excited with your trip to India than your trip to the Philippines. I've already watched so many travel vlogs about the Philippines where I feel like I've seen every corner of my country. But when you visited The Philippines, you managed to pique my interest with your professional vlogging style - informative and enthusiastic. Now, you're exploring the country I want to visit again and I'm sure it's 10 times more diverse and wonderful than my country both landscape and culture-wise.

      In ancient India learned people used to do 'yagya' for specific purposes and results they wanted to manifest...where they lit fire and poured ghee on that fire...to sustain it and make it grow.
      Your kids are that fire.. and you both are pouring ghee on that fire by exposing them to world culture and reality at such young age...making them grow like the yagya fire!!

    You will have to go to the south to try south Indian food... Just like if you had chole bhatura and dhokla from the north only. That are just two items from the south, but there are at least 100 other dishes, that are really good in the south.

      It would depend on a lot of factors. We basically gave our travel club a budget at $5k per person and told them all the places we wanted to go. We had three revisions of the itinerary until we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted to save money on hotels in some cities a splurge in others, like staying at the Oberoi in Jaipur and Udaipur - AMAZING!

    #2 What did you think of the traffic ? Our friends that have been to India, some have worked there, say that in a taxi you just close
    your eyes until you arrive, very scary. Do the kids draw as much attention as I think they do in the Philippines.? Waiting for the next upload.

    • @AlwaysBeChanging
      @AlwaysBeChanging  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The kids get maybe more attention in India. Every time we turned around someone wanted to take a picture with them. The cars and driving is scary in India but just as scary as Philippines. Car lanes are only suggestions 😝. But the traffic was the worst in Mumbai.

      give Brooklyn a pinch on the cheek. Definitely, no car lanes and the white line is meant for you to straddle as you drive.
