    I was suppose to go on a cruise with my family back in 2020 and I was 17 at that time and like I was looking forward to the graduation group that the moms made on Facebook for their senior child’s that were Graduating HS at the time but then covid happened and they ended up cancelling our cruise and I never got to meet them or chill with them. Eventually now next summer we are planning on taking the cruise next summer now that I’m going to be 21 at that time so at least I can do most entertainment now since I’m legal. But the thing is that I’m an autistic girl with social anxiety and my family might be off doing their own things etc.. and like I may just be hanging alone 🥺 since I’m no longer old enough to go to teen club anymore with the fun kids
    It’s going to be so hard trying to find people to meet and hang out with my age i believe and someone😥 I really don’t want to be too lonely on a cruise tho even tho I got my family
    This video should help me👍🏼 I enjoyed it

      You’re going to have a wonderful time..the cruise community is very inclusive and 99% of people want to enjoy themselves without a care in the world. Be as social as you can, smile at everyone, and don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to a stranger. If they act weird, then it’s their loss! Best wishes to you!

      @@Afro_Vlogs Heyy there it’s me again. Just went on my cruise back in June and wanted to give u an update. I went on Royal Caribbean’s independence of the seas and for the overall experience the vacation was wonderful and we went to Nassau Bahamas which is so beautiful❤️😍😍 u have to visit there! The Bahamian people were the best and so hospitable with me and my family
      But however tho I understand the part where it says not everyone is going to talk to you etc.. which again I understand and u know but something sad happened to me. On the first night was chill we toured the ship and stuff and then I went to the club. The club was lit the first night and really fun, but the second night, I tried talking to people like u said , and ofc they were all stand-offish and plain ole rude to me and nicer to everyone else around that they don’t even know. college kids my age forming cliques already but for some reason didn’t want me or get to know me😔 But what was even worse is that most of these girls that formed up were making fun of my accent. I overheard them which made me shed a few tears when i left the club by the end of the night. I’m originally from Scotland I’ve been living in USA for 10+ years and that really made me sad. Which is kinda why most of the time i hide my accent a lot now just to sorta blend in. And I actually felt lonely “due my siblings were in teen club and mom going to bed early” and gained hell of a lot anxiety because of them
      I did meet a nice group of girls and they were Canadian which made my cruising better by having people to hang out with during the evenings and nights. They were super nice and all sweet especially after i told them abt the incident and told me they loved my accent a lot. A lot of foreign crew members onboard from across the world too we’re very nice to me and my family to make sure we had a good cruise.
      Thinking abt it now.. i realised that it’s ONLY American passengers will be the weird stand-off ish and the rudest ones because there’s a lot of them on board. I though Americans were suppose to be the nicest ones. But apparently not ig. I bet thèse American girls who made of my accent are probably the same ones who would go into a non-English speaking country and be like “does anybody speak English” etc.. like they’re so entitled😭😔
      sorry for long comment x
      I promise you that I won’t let this experience I had get to me or keep me from cruising again.
      I love cruises. I don’t hate Americans, sometimes i Just wish they’re less of them on my cruise
      Thank you again for your advice xx

      Hey thanks for sharing your story..what a rollercoaster of emotions that must have been for you, but I’m glad to hear you found some fellow cruise mates to hang with. It’s unfortunate that some people can be so rude to a complete stranger. I love living in America, but I could go on and on about the things that are so terrible here.
      I hope you exchanged information with your cruise buddies and keep in contact! I find it usually takes more effort on my end to keep in touch with others I meet from vacation, but it’s an awesome feeling to meet someone years down the road that you met on a cruise ship!
      Also, you’ve really inspired me, so thank you for returning and commenting…cheers! 🤗

    I’ve mentioned it before but if you can stand the smoke the smokers area is great for meeting people. There’s usually the lone person there just drinking and smoking. I occasionally vape so it was a great area to converse. I went with a friend but when I wanted to meet new people alone and people watch that was the best area for me!

    • @Afro_Vlogs
      @Afro_Vlogs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahhh right I forgot the smokers section is a great vibe!.. Everyone there has always been friendly and welcoming. I didn’t find it too “smokey” because the deck is so breezy! There’s also some comfortable seating and a beautiful view of the ocean!

    Thanks for the tips, but this is a males point of view. I mean that as a woman solo cruiser that if someone asked me if I was by myself, I don't think that I'd be willing to say yes. I really want this experience, but I'm not one who broadcast my status. Lol. Great video. Being introverted doesn't help either.

      I feel you here..from my experience, I’ve met several solo cruisers who are women and they didn’t seem to have any experience that were bad/wild/extreme. I’m not up in everyone’s business though, but for the most part i don’t see people have issues. Especially those who just kind their own business. I hope you take the leap..thanks so much for commenting!

    as a younger person age 12 do you have any advice for meeting people? I'm going on my cruise during the school year so I'm expecting there to not be a lot of people my age to talk to and hang out with but y'know I could be wrong.

    • @Afro_Vlogs
      @Afro_Vlogs  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cruises usually do a good job at getting the kids together who are of similar age. I’ve found that they try to keep the kids all together and the adults all together. There will be plenty of activities on the ship where most of the kids will naturally gather.
      My advice to you: Be confident, smile, and look people in their eyes when you talk to them or when they talk to you. Ask questions about where they’re from and/or what they have planned during the cruise. If they’re nice, they’ll ask you similar questions!
      Not everyone will love you or be receptive to your personality, and that’s ok. You’re not going to connect with everyone..there are like 7 billion people in this world, with so many different personalities.
      Enjoy your trip..there should at least be a handful of kids you can hang out with/talk to/eat with. I hope you have fun!

    I could easily react to all your tips, but that would be too much to read.
    a. Women cruising alone will get adopted unless they're anti-social. But men cruising alone have to take the initiative and put themselves out there because that's what men are expected to do in society as a whole.
    b. I heard this saying from Vynnessa of the channel Vacation Vibes "Your vibe leads you to your tribe". And most people are creatures of habit.
    c. I'm the opposite of you in that I'm an introvert. Approaching someone who's alone at a bar feels too random to me. If someone tries to talk to me, all that will be in my mind is "Why are you talking to me?" and "What do you want from me?" I don't have an answer to those same questions when debating as to whether or not to initiate the conversation.
    d. People are more amped to talk on high adrenaline excursions and those excursions where alcohol is served.
    e. As to staying in touch, that would be the most nerve-wracking part. In terms of how often. Are you trying to be real friends with these people or just activity partners (go on cruises together). But some people are like what happens on the cruise stays on the cruise and they won't keep in touch.

    • @Afro_Vlogs
      @Afro_Vlogs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting perspective of the man vs. woman solo cruising experience. I do smile a lot and kill folks with kindness, so perhaps that helps with the whole putting myself out there. I’m pretty sure I do that lol.
      There have been instances where I’ll try to strike up a conversation with someone, and get a weird reaction from them. Sometimes later in the trip, they’ll be more comfortable with me. It’s all part of the experience!
      I genuinely try to befriend some people on cruises. Of course some things stay on the ship lol.
      I really appreciate your comments!
