If Rhett is ever in the Netherlands, he should come to the Speelklok Museum. It’s a museum dedicated to all sorts of mechinal musical instruments. It’s where wintergatan got inspiration for the marble machine, which later on also got displayed there!!
When Rhett was talking about stealing, I was reminded of my favorite character from Northern Exposure; Chris Stevens; saying, "Sometimes you gotta do something bad just to know you're alive ".
Ear Biscuits has really become a part of my weekly work routine. I love listening to the two of you while I work. It's one of the calmest podcasts that I listen to, yet it's entertaining. Thank you for everything that you do.
Each profession (Psychiatry, psychology, Marriage & Family Therapists, Clinical Social Work) has its own code of ethics, but they are all pretty much the same. All of them state that dating a client is grounds for losing your license, and you are also open to civil lawsuits. This goes for dating an active and EVEN a former client. There is a power differential that cannot be ignored, nor overcome. That being said, it's important to bring it up with your therapist, because it will get in the way of treatment. It's hard but needs to be in the open.
@@quinnflynn1397there’s none unless he’s willing to take a chance on his entire career. That’s ultimately up to him. You’ve done nothing wrong by becoming interested in them, but you must also remember they are showing only one side of themselves. If he is a good therapist and is professional while conducting his sessions, he is another person outside of the office. His professionalism is not the only part of his personality. Not to say he couldn’t be a great person outside of session, but you don’t really know him regardless of how many months you’ve been seen by him. Let’s say he does show interest in you, is totally unbothered that he is your therapist or maybe even struggles with the idea, yet remains a therapist and pursues a relationship with you- who is to say it won’t happen again to him? Just my two cents. I’m sorry you’re in this predicament. I can only imagine how this is impacting you, emotionally. Hang in there.
what is genuinely crazy is depending on how conservative Jason's family are, if there are kids at this coming out party, some people there will take issue with him flaunting his sexuality by .. stepping out of a cupboard. all love to you jase if you're reading
Buy the cuckoo clock! My parents got two on our trip to Germany. One chalet style, one hunters style. They are both beautiful. Love them! You eventually get used to the constant sound of the clock haha
For the woman who went back to the store to grab the right lid, that's perfectly fine. I highly doubt anyone would care. Those lids don't have their own SKUs and I can pretty much guarantee they have extras from so many people forgetting to take the lid. (At least that is my experience working at Wally World). Rhett however, did something a bit worse. Trading one SKU out for a different SKU messes up the inventory system. It's not just about price. In the grand scheme it doesn't matter too much given that it's practically impossible to have 100% accurate counts in a big store anyway, but there is a good reason why you should follow the proper procedure to exchange an item. (Lol, wrote this before I got to the part about Rhett leaving his baby in the car).
Theres a town in Michigan called Frankenmuth, its a Bavarian German town. They have tons of cute little shops and the whole town is themed around Bavaria. They also have a huge Christmas store
I feel Link on the visit to the "Danish town" - I always want to find that record store too if I go to a new place - never know what you're going to find. Knowing that the general shopping experience is not fun to you, you found your enjoyment and that's all that matters.
The picture I had in my head of the clock when I listened on Monday looked nothing like the actual clock. That’s so cool!! Rhett you should totally buy it!
Rhett, you can absolutely have a personal museum. Sorry Link but that was an L take. What is it you say? If weird you is let weird you be? Live the words!
Idea for the coming out that could be fun and include “masculine” things and chemistry… have a Super Bowl party, but hire a bartender who makes drinks that become rainbows in the mixology! Hahaha :) Only serve hot dogs or a variety of quality brats, sausages, etc. Do betting games, and only use (fake) 2 dollar bills.
I love my cuckoo clock. It’s so charming. You quickly get used to the chirps. I look forward to hearing it. My husband winds it up every single morning. The things been continually clocking away for years now.
The reason Rhett chose to steal the battery is because he realized he had left his son in the car and so he quickly grabbed the right battery and left. Lol I remember this story from a very old GMM.
Rhett’s video of the violin/piano is so reminiscent of all the wild things in House on the Rock in Wisconsin. Now THAT place is a wild trip!! Check it out!!
28:35 I still have a thermos that’s missing the internal screw on lid I didn’t think to pop off the top and make sure it had that screw on lid before buying it. The things useless without it. I’ve wanted to go grab that internal lid from Walmart for years now. This thermos was expensive, probably $50 bucks. Walmart owes me that lid! 😂😂😂
As someone who worked in retail when you buy a bin the bin and the lid are one item. If you go and buy the wrong lid, there is gonna be an odd number in the store so her going back and just trading the lids 100% OK. What Rhett did is theft because he did not trade for the same item. Every item has a different SKU number in the store, which means if he grabbed a different battery, they most likely had a different SKU number so in the system the wrong item amounts for the two batteries.
When i worked in the mental health field we had to sign confidentiality agreements where we could not associate with clients outside of the building and even up to six months after we left the company. We have to pretend to not even see them or recognize them.
@quinnflynn1397 they would have to break contract and risk serious repercussions such as losing their license and their job which could make their whole life fall a part. Or you would have to wait for the allotted time period to be up which could be months or years. Im not the one giving advice but I would self reflect to see why it is I fell in love with this person, that perhaps they make you feel safe and heard when no one else does. And if you can't release those feelings, then switch therapists to save yourself more pain down the road. If it's meant to be, you'll meet again further down the road when there are no restrictions or you'll find the love fade away during that time a part. If you do leave you could do as Rhett says and tell them. Then you'll at least get a chance to hear how they feel which will make it easier to move on if they don't reciprocate the feelings.
@quinnflynn1397 I'm so sorry you are going through this. I have been a licensed therapist for almost 10 years. The OP is right. Legally we cannot acknowledge clients in public or on social media platforms. I have had current and previous clients find me on social media and had to immediately block them. As therapists we do hold emotional boundaries. I am not my clients' friend, I am their therapist and a support system. I believe the APA has a set 2 years before a therapist can engage a client, but there is a chance of losing our licenses if we engage clients before those few years. I hope you find a new therapist that can really help you process all of this. Best of luck!
rhett! one of my good buddies said he ran into you at sundance film festival. you told him that quote "pulp fiction is the raddest movie ever". i for one agree.

Okay, so with therapy the therapist can not ACTIVELY be seeing the patient. I have an idea for our friend Jason!!! So hopefully your birthday hasn’t passed yet this year. Plan for a surprise birthday party. Hide in a sizable closet with your favorite outfit on and make sure the border of that closet is decorated. When everyone is there waiting to “surprise you“ have a friend make everyone get in positions and have them think that you’re approaching the house. When they get ready to surprise you, you surprise them! Bust out of the closet have your friend play your absolute favorite song and pop those confetti cannon things when you come out. Maybe drape a big pride flag around you so when you come out you can do a big spin twirl so they see the pride flag! 🏳️🌈 at the end of the day everyone is there to celebrate you already, this can add another letter to the celebration! P.S. cutting into a rainbow layer cake is a great idea too! Best of luck and so much love to you. You got this!!
bro Link has to be high af during this one lmaooo
I thought the same thing! Maybe he's actually sick and it's kinda "in his head" and making him loopy. otherwise he's high as a kite haha
to me he looks tired or sick tbh
He explains he was dealing with some crazy indian food aftermath near the end of the episode.
I was like dude is link blazed?? Glad I am not alone
Or just sick or tired? It's rude to assume somebody is on drugs.
We all know the gayest countdown is, "and 5, 6, 7, 8!"
And the song should be 'I'm coming out' 🎉
I cant help but watch link like a hawk, knowing he could shit his pants any minute. He looks uncomfortable
