@user-lk7cv8vg7r Lets not forget with context the lakota was damn near a suprise attack. Everyone on the defiant wasnt expecting to attack another federation starship. And they didnt use theyre full aresnal etiher. But the defiant can definetly beat the lakota. Neither ship went 100 percent yet the lakota was def worse out by the end. The defiant can beat a galaaxy class so it can probably beat a refit excelsior too. Along with the lakota getting in 4 free shots
In the episode neither ship used quantum torpedoes. The Defiant is seen shooting a photon torpedo at one stage, as well as its pulse and beam phasers. The Lakota is only seen using phasers. However the Lakota also gets several free shots in while the DS9 characters decide whether to return fire. The Lakota's captain complains that the Defiant secretly had ablative armour installed which prevents the Defiant's weapons from being disabled, and that they are unable to stop the Defiant. So presumably the Defiant gains the upper hand at that level of weapons escalation. But they also imply both ships were sufficiently crippled that the first to elect to use quantum torpedoes would destroy the other. Interestingly, this was one of the few later season DS9 episodes where the bubble shields of starships are shown. For a lot of the episodes from way of the warrior, they seemed to decide it was too much effort to do the bubble shield effects, and either put a simpler glow effect when weapons hit the target or just had the target ship outright explode or take severe hull damage on the first hit shown. I'm sure the TNG crew would have appreciated it if Birds of Prey blew up in Generations as easily as they did on DS9.
Not true. Just look at all the battles the Defiant went through going against much tougher weapons that quantun torpedos. The plain fact of the matter is the Defiant in BCR is nerfed.
@@Great_America Well it's canon that they said "If you use those quantums you'll kill 50 starfleet officers". So they knew the quantums would destroy the defiant.
The Defiant is severely nerfed in BCR and needs to be buffed. It's quite evident here shown in this battle. In the TV show, they were much more closely matched.
3:39 Your fate was pretty much sealed when when you stopped firing after you disabled the Lakota's shields. Also have you tried going straight for disabling the enemy's sensors. Even just damaging them might give you an advantage?
I really loved how this fight turned out. The power scale seems exactly how I imagined it, where the Defiant could have won the fight, not because of overwhelming power, but due to agility whereas the Lakota could have won the fight on pure power grounds, especially while being able to launch those significantly larger and more powerful quantum variants (type 3 vs type 2).
I remember the Deep Space 9 episode well, the phasers were heavily upgraded as Miles stated that is a lot of firepower for an excelsior class. The Lakota is an Excelsior refit class and is a heavy cruiser. The quantum torpedo would cripple either ship and would depend on whoever got the first volley. I still think the Lakota could take more damage but l recall the Defiant had twin launchers at the front.
Lol, this was awesome. Probably the most accurate Lakota vs Defiant you have done. Really wish those fins on the Lakotas engineering section could go, really ruins the look of the Excelsior class.
Both the Defiant and Lakota were pretty much evenly matched in DS9 episode Paradise Lost. Both used Phasers, but the Defiant had ablative hull armour, whereas the Lakota did not... to me, this seemingly implies the Lakota was more powerful in baseline stats than the Defiant. If they both had Ablative hull armour, its likely the Defiant would have been readily defeated. The upgrades SF integrated into the Lakota were numerous... and its a testament to what SF can do with older ship designs to keep them up to date.
The recharge on the phaser cannons needs tweaking as it takes ages to replenish, the Defiant and Lakota should have approx the same shields as the Defiant had modified Galaxy Class shields and Lakota was upgraded with weapons/shields/warp drive maybe up to 2372 standards. Lakota would have vastly superior weapons coverage but Defiant has very heavy frontal arc fire. Ultimately the Ablative Armour the Defiant had which was equipped by Sisko hush hush won the fight.
I think you left your port side exposed and they got a lucky shot, you should turn more and keep your good shields towards them. I wonder why it takes so long to recharge phasers? In the series it always seemed like the Defiant had unlimited phaser power. Can you try again but with full phasers?
It is possible that's what would have happened. Since after all they both damaged each other so bad that one shot from each other would finish one another off. I think the Captain of the Lakota knew that and that's why she stood down and stopped fighting.
I think this has always been my issue with the Defient. It needs to turn the entire ship to use it's main weapons at the front. Whereas all other Starfleet ships can fire from 360 degrees, or pretty close to it. This means the Defient always has to fly towards it's target, instead of flying to evade while simultaneously attacking.
Where can I download this mod? I searched both Nexus mods and Gamefront and could not find the Lakota mod for BC Remastered. I tested the C2 Lakota mod and can't get the quantum torpedos to fire - game errors out with an error stating C2QUANTUM is missing :(
I think you should have started off cooking, then fly to blind spot and unloaded, re cloke and rinse and repeat. Target shields. Minimize damage. Did that with a warbird years ago.
Love these battles, I have added bridge commander remastered to my game, However i am having trouble adding these cool new ships ? any tips on how to do this ? thanks
It should just be a case of dragging and dropping the files. The folders should match up. Make sure that in the configure screen that all of the mutators are selected. Sometimes they deselect for no reason 🖖
Did this version of the defiant have no armor at all? In the episode it was basically a stale mate, which is why the Lakota upgrades never made it to other Excelsior class's because a defiant is easier to build....
This version may not tbh. It’s the one from bc remastered. I don’t think armour is actually a thing in bc remastered. Although I do think the Lakota was more canon in this fight. 🖖
I think this Lakota is slightly overpowered. It is clearly more powerful than the Defiant when they are about completely evenly matched based on the DS9 battle. Both sides refrained from quantum torpedoes and both were pretty done by the end of the battle.
How about you concentrate on tactics first and leave commenting for when it's not a critical time? You lose a lot of battles when you're opining about something rather than focusing on the attack.
Acrually Lakota was too strong and Defiants phasers were strong enough. Defiant can destroy a Dominion attack ship 2 3 volleys. A BoP in 4 Volleys. In the episode Defiant shields were reduced by at least 3 phader shots before going to work. Each ships Quantum torpodes should be the same power. Excelsiors hill was too well armored. Should be around 60 percent of what was seen hear. Defiants hull should doublr due yo the ablative armor as Captain Benteen implies they would have gotten past its shields if not for the armor. Defiant should be a pretty decisive winner here despite Lakotas shields and weapons.
"..use those quantum torpedoes and you'll be killing fifty Starfleet officers!" - Sisko towards Cpt. Bentine on the Lakota..so yes!
Yea bc it's a surprise attack... the Defiant beats the lakota

BOP's were death traps unless main or supporting character was onboard in DS9.
That was close. Literally clinched my teeth lol.
Obrien- "what do we do commander!?!"
Worf-.......... "we fight!"
🖖
Finally, a little accuracy w/ Lakota. It’s a beast.
A very realistic depiction of how the Defiant would take Quantum torpedo hits.
Not true. Just look at all the battles the Defiant went through going against much tougher weapons that quantun torpedos. The plain fact of the matter is the Defiant in BCR is nerfed.

Gotta love that desperate losing music towards the end, it reminds me of the Undiscovered Country every time
Captain Benteen finally made Admiral Leyton proud. Twice in a row. 😛
Sovereign Class Quantums and stronger phasers; "That's alot of firepower for an Excelsior Class ship" Yup, you are correct Miles.
The Defiant is severely nerfed in BCR and needs to be buffed. It's quite evident here shown in this battle. In the TV show, they were much more closely matched.
The right Captain for the right mission!
I could not stop laughing watching this video.

😮wow! That Lakota is a gorgeous ship.

Excelsior refit is so good looking.

One word: EPIC!!

The Excelsior and all its variants are just sooooooo sexy

Plot armor is the story forcefield-subsystem for the Defiant.

0:50 plot armor was invented by Miles O'Brien to protect Mr Worf after all those throw downs he suffered in TNG.
😂😂😂
In that episode, I don’t think they even used Quantum torpedoes because they were so powerful. The Lakota ask permission to use them I think.
Not gonna lie, I was cheering for Lakota both times.
4:30 Perhaps today is a good day to…💥
That's alot of firepower for an Excelsior class ship

Nice Showcase!
Who is releasing this Lakota mod? I didn't want to double up on anyone.😅
I need to double check 🥺 Not too sure where it’s come from 😂
I think you should have started off cooking, then fly to blind spot and unloaded, re cloke and rinse and repeat. Target shields. Minimize damage. Did that with a warbird years ago.
In the episode Captain Bentine was told to use quantim torpedoes on tge Defiant but she didn't because it would destroy Defiant.
Love these battles, I have added bridge commander remastered to my game, However i am having trouble adding these cool new ships ? any tips on how to do this ? thanks

Why are there phasers only on one side of the ship?
Seems much more fair.
Lakota looks like the Excelsior class no?
LOL .... GOOD FIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!
Wonder is possible in all enterprises and get together
Where can I find the Lakota?
They are all on gamefront 🖖

Looks like you intentionally lost the second fight due to that prolonged period where you didn't fire weapons.
You always give them your left side! 😒
'Promosm' 😌
