Shaker motor kit Stern SPIKE system 502-5027-01 install on a Stern Ghostbusters Pro Pinball machine! This how to install is for the official Stern shaker motor and not the aftermarket versions. In this video we will show the installation of the Stern Spike Shaker Motor which takes about ten minutes. After we install the shaker motor we will test it with the shaker motor coil test and then also look at the adjustment options for the shaker in the menu system. You cannot adjust the intensity of the shaker motor but you can adjust the frequency in the adjustment menu. The shaker motor adds another dimension to the game and is pretty sweet! :) How to install a Stern Shaker Motor!

I keep an Aladdin's Castle token in my wallet from my first game that I collected, Astro Blaster. Aladdin's Castle was the arcade I grew up in as a kid so it is very special to me. That was so cool he sent you a piece of his past and it meant that much to you.
Man the token gift got me, I can relate to that dude when the arcades died around me when I was a kid!

Great game and im glad the shaker motor chilled out a bit because like you i thought you were going to regret it . It was loud and intense but game on it see s much better and not overpowering the game.
Hey John, 2 notes about shaker motor cover screws... I just received my shaker motor from Stern (complete with screws and sticker) . The cover screws are actually "self tapping screws" and the holes are not threaded in the metal frame to mount the cover . Stern could have made this unit better with pre threaded cover mount holes, a notch in the cover for the wires to exit, and I would have put shrink tube over the solder connections instead of just bare and only 2mm away from the spinner.
Stern should be giving you this stuff for free. I have no doubt at least a few people have bought the Ghostbusters pins just from seeing your video.

beautiful machine. I thought it was strange that when you put the shaker motor in that you did not use lock washers or locktite. I figure that device shaking and spinning all the time will eventually cause the bolts to back out
John, the nice thing about adding the shaker motor is besides adding another layer of player interaction, it also verffies the SLIMER hits, nice side effect. ENJOY BROTHER.

Not too many people have such feelings, so I'm glad that someone had those to be honest...

1. Stern's cabinets absolutely suck for doing maintenance... The way the playfield pulls out against those small L stops, and then the way it slides back as your lifting it up, making you have to pull it back against the L stops again once it's up is ridiculous...
Also, the small legs that eventually loosen up are kinda weak...
For those who don't know, Bally's metal legs are a complete rail kinda like the legs on a long patio/ outdoor/ pool/ beach laydown chair...
2. I have the shaker motor in my Tales From The Crypt and I like it as well.. it just adds another dimension and gives the user additional interactive feedback...
3. I would becareful having that coin in that wallet spot... I use to have that wallet and it's kinda small there and prone to it sliding out by accident... I would hate to hear you lost it cuz it slipped out...

Can you upgrade the slingshot things above the flippers with the magnetic spinning one from the premium version? That's such a unique and defining feature to have on a version that most people wouldn't play. those spinner seem to benefit or hurt your game depending on how you manage them.

Seems pretty cool, kind of expensive but I'd say it's probably worth it.
The point is... I think that the Ghostbusters looks more like an old data east game. I think Stern is a great company, but at that time they where kinda going into the wrong direction. For example: I'm a big fan of "ripley's believe it or not". I think this pin is way better than Ghostbusters when it comes to animation and game play. Maybe it's just me. There are many opinions on pins, I know
Is the playfield really shifting towards the right or does the shaker motor being on the right make balls tend to go that way?

Isn't that classed as an attempt at anti-trust saying you void the warranty if you don't use their parts. Much like Apple and their touch ID. Even they didn't say that because they knew they'd be hit with anti-trust.
I'd have expected the use of shake proof washers for fixing this.

Seriously John I'd have said something regarding the missing hardware, you paid good money for the kit, you should have gotten what you paid for. But nonetheless awesome acquisition with the GB game. I'm a video guy myself but pinball still has a spot with me.

jon i found a Ghost hunter redemption game that is claimed working condition, but the changed it to a card swipe which i have no clue what that means, for a very low price but its in Missouri and cant afford that shipping cost was wondering your ideas on this. ive never owned an arcade cabnet or pinball machine but youve inspired me to get a cabinet somehow with money i dont have, with barely enough to pay for my phone and food i saw a cabnet for 99 cent starting bid and i really really want it but to be honest i cant afford it and even if i can i dont have the money to fix it if something is wrong, so i would love for you to grab it for me and give it a proper place among your arcade cabinet paradise and make a video for me. probably fucked up with mentioning it and will go out of my price range but felt youd appreciate the frendly tip. found it on ebay. bye jon continue reviving the treasures of our collective youth.

i love new pinball machines, but stern is getting rediculous in trying to reduce costs, on,off switch on a place you cant reach, cheap lockbar, 4 cheapo leds in the backbox etc etc, ill keep my ghostbuster for a year of 3, so proably will never have a problem with it, that is for the people after me
Stern should so give you stuff for free - as you featuring the pin on your videos and will for sure keep doing it for a while until you beat the game.
