I have an Amateur Extra License and I am learning new things everyday about ham radio. I live in a gated community and we have a Emergency Preparedness group of 130 members comprised of retired nurses and first responders. I train people to get their Technician license using a power point program and the students need to study on their own. We have had good success. It is also necessary to reach out to Ham radio clubs in your area. Point well taken to learn more about Emergency Comms.
Great show guys!! It took me months to be involved in my local RACES and found them through my job wanting me to be involved in emergency preparedness in our area, still haven’t found any local ARES groups. Sent emails to the ARRL section and NEVER heard anything back…
I really wish I could have joined. I have a few things Id liked to have added from a personal and professional perspective many wont consider. I own an emergency prep company. I missed this mornings stream, cause, well I am packing a personal bag to deploy to east coast for this hurricane response. I am a consultant to a couple of agencies there. and have already been asked if I would go out. So. if ya dont see me around here much thats why. Otherwise, Id like to add a few things that I am sure wont be covered here. Ill nit pic as I can. 73, and safe deployments and travels yall!

We just did an ARES exercise in my area this morning.
So what is the difference between this Emcomm 101 class and the one ARRL has had for several years?
