  • Which AI reigns supreme? In this head-to-head showdown, I put GPT-4 and Gemini Advanced to the test, building real-world marketing plans for a dermatology clinic.
Below are the section, prompts used and insights from the video:
    Target audience identification
Please help me develop a marketing plan, identify target audiences, analyze market trends, and provide strategic direction [for a dermatology clinic in Los Angeles].
    * Interesting point: Gemini provides a more detailed breakdown of potential target audiences based on different demographics, highlighting the importance of specificity in marketing.
    * Editing focus: Short clip focusing on Gemini's specific audience suggestions vs. GPT-4's more general advice.
    Competitor analysis
"Please provide the analysis and critique regarding my closest competitor. Please provide the brand analysis, closest competitor, [competitor's website]. Provide also suggestions on to out-compete them and in-compete them."
    * Interesting point: Both GPT-4 and Gemini analyze the competitor's website. Gemini stands out by suggesting ways to surpass the competition and highlight patient testimonials, social media presence, and unique services.
    * Editing focus: Emphasize Gemini's "outdo the competition" focus - consider a side-by-side of Gemini's suggestions vs. competitor's website visuals.
    Developing unique selling propositions (USPs)
    * Interesting point: Gemini encourages focusing on a niche specialization instead of trying to be all things to all patients.
    * Editing focus: Clip zooming in on this niche concept in Gemini's output as a novel suggestion.
    Social media content
"Suggest social media content ideas, optimal posting times, and strategies for engagement. [Consider] smart goals we can use and track performance, right?"
    * Interesting point: Gemini provides more detail on optimal posting times for different platforms (ex: weekday mornings for Instagram, etc.), and specific content engagement strategies (Q&As, etc.).
    * Editing focus: Short montage-style visuals showing the variety of content suggested by Gemini, possibly overlaid with catchy, "insider tip" music.
    Email Marketing
"Generate examples of the effective email marketing campaigns I can run for my existing clients and for my future clients to increase annual revenue per each client. And how would I measure the success and performance."
    * Interesting point: Gemini provides very actionable campaign examples focused on upselling and increasing client revenue.
    * Editing focus: Quick edits swapping between Gemini's specific campaign suggestions and visuals representing upselling concepts (special discounts, exclusive services, etc.).
    SEO analysis
    * Interesting point: Gemini analyzes the competitor's SEO strategy and identifies opportunities to outrank them with specific on-page and technical solutions.
    * Editing focus: Include short animated visuals to represent Gemini's technical SEO suggestions (crawling a web page, etc.) as these might look abstract at first glance.
    Google ads
    * Interesting point: Gemini generates highly targeted ad groups, campaign structure suggestions, and dives into settings like location radius targeting.
    * Editing Focus: Highlight the step-by-step organization of Gemini's suggestions. This shows its process-oriented and practical approach
    Data Analysis
    * Interesting point: GPT-4 wins this round. It provides a clearer explanation of first-touch attribution as its strength.
    * Editing focus: Acknowledge GPT-4's win here to build trust with the audience and maintain fairness.
    Influencer marketing
    * Interesting point: Gemini suggests partnering with affordable micro-influencers (under $1000/month) instead of focusing only on mega-influencers.
    * Editing focus: This is relatable for small businesses! Highlight this budget-sensitive angle.
    Marketing trends
    * Interesting point: Gemini covers a wide range of cutting-edge trends and offers specific implementations (AI personalization, short-form videos, etc).
    * Editing focus: Snappy montage of trend concepts, showing Gemini's "finger on the pulse" of marketing innovation.

I see so many negative posts about Gemini yet I already find myself using it over gpt4. I primarily use AI for writing and I was absolutely shocked that Gemini actually is far superior to gpt4 in terms of writing skills. Then you add to that the fact that with Gemini you essentially get unlimited AI content for 20 bucks a month because as far as I can tell there doesn't seem to be a cap, as compared to gpt4 where you're limited to 40 messages every 3 hours, and it starts becoming a no-brainer for me. I also absolutely love the feature of getting three drafts to choose from and the drop-down menu where in a fraction of a second you can choose whether you want something to be longer or shorter Etc. Overall I'm just loving Gemini. That's why I'm really surprised so many people have so many bad things to say about it.

I agree with you I was very surprised as well. Also may be they are comparing regular Gemini not the advanced version aka Ultra. Also works really well when you are looking for places since it is connected to gmaps

I asked Gemini to give me a list of herbs that were good for eyes and it refused it said I'm not a medical professional go and see a medical professional gpt gave me a list of herbs that maybe beneficial for eye health..... No matter how I asked Gemini refuse to give the list to herbs that I wanted so gpt wins

Some of these models will refuse to do anything that has anything to do with healthcare or psychology or psychiatry. In your case it is medicine. I find the Claude by Anthropic to be very similar in this regard. You should try Zephyr or Mixtral, they rarely refuse to answer

I found that it could be circumvented by different prompt. For e.g. not asking the recommendation for certain disease which will activate its restraints, but rather something like "what are the current findings of effect of natural molecules in [type] of disease".
