This is really good. Given your infrastructure i.e. mains supply, solar, batteries, heat pump all linked to H.A., it would be really interesting if you went down the route of selecting the optimum power source for a given time of day and price. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your comment and question. The Tesla Powerwall provides a lot of this intelligence as does the My Energy solution (eddie & Zappi). I configure the Powerwall so it knows when my cheap and expensive rates are and when I get paid the most for putting power back on to the grid (I use Octopus for my Electricity provider). The battery will save its energy for times when I would pay the most to pull power off the grid. The My Energy solutions either heat the water or charge the car based on excess power going back on to the grid. If My Energy detects power going on to the grid it will first of all heat my water and if that has already reached temp then the car will be charged. If the Powerwall is 100% and the water is hot and the car is fully charger then any remaining generated power will go back on to the grid. The ASHP doesn't not need to heat the water if Eddie has done it already, if it does need power then it will either use a cheap tariff or use the stored battery power. I'm not sure HA would or could add much additional value but does provide a great way to visualize the monitoring data in one place.

Whats the highest resolution of the data coming from the shelly em? Or is that controlled within HA? I'm looking for a way to monitor and log the current usage on a 32a circuit at the highest resolution possible, ideally multiple samples per second to detect transient issues. Cheers!

I can't see a way to monitor the current usage directly. The only options that are available for monitoring is W and KWh. When you export the KWh data in CSV from the Shelly app the values are in 1 hour intervals. The graphs in HA allow you to show the same data at 5 min intervals.

@@ProjectSmartHome I've got one now, with the /status json endpoint i can get 1s samples, which is pretty impressive for such a cheap device!

I've listened to the video on various devices and they all sound good. Let me know if anyone else is having problems. Thanks
