As a free player I've been saving for several months waiting hopefully for a new mont or reg sepheroth to return. Im nervous about spending my long saved vis on a non meta unit i can get use out of for quite a while. So I'll definitely be waiting for reviews to come out after his release. And yeah, abilities are getting crazy. Why have these large paragraphs of skills when most characters shut it down wasting your turn or just having to turn off abilities in auto fights. Thank you so much for the hard work you do and share with us!
I've played around with kadaj a decent amount and have liked his kit. He seems to have solid ai and has the possibility to use a tmr buff. I think you can push these units a half tier up since we're getting a set of excellent role players so far this year and probably getting the vision cards to use them. My personal pull ranking is cards>sephorath>kadaj/cloud/tifa.
It's from what I've seen from some of JP's videos, if Sephiroth's Curse only hits 1 unit or is removed/cured or doesn't work, a large part of what makes him special ends
i love my fire units..even if most of them arent awesome--- so ill welcome fire sephiroth with open hearth and wallet..i had to pity ashen mont but i regret nothing!... great analisis.. i hope u can make a full analisis when seph comes to GL. Thanks for keeping up the good work Mr. readyplayerWill

It's a little tough to square your statements that Sephiroth doesn't have longevity with Umbra Rays' videos saying Sephiroth suddently made a whole lot of JP units viable again in arena with his curse mechanic. I suppose both of y'all could have it right, but I am definitely wondering how unique the curse mechanic is going to be. If it's common, then I think you're right that Seph gets crept. If it's not though, it could be a counter to many units and enable a lot of viable team comps into the future, not just the short term, even if there are ways to mitigate by pushing your tank forward etc
I think it's because they're playing in the moment with no foresight to what's coming. There's plenty of units that are released that look good for 2 weeks because that's the nature of Gacha. And respect to Umbra, but he does no real analysis, he does reactions. And Arena really isn't the primary game mode that we base character evaluations off of here in Global. There's too much bias in the bonuses in how people climb, spend Viz to rank, bias in the current map bonuses they give new units, etc etc. BUT also why this is totally preliminary. Of course we can't tell in JP if he has longevity or not because.... the future hasn't happened yet haha
@@ReadyPlayerWill Yeah that makes sense. I always get excited about the prospect of a meta that brings in some variety, maybe I got prematurely excited when I saw Umbra reacting that way. Thanks for the analysis, it's helpful as always.

I've been noticing a lot of your reviews calls out how characters buffs are "easily dispelable." I'm confused by this feedback because the only things that aren't just general dispelable are wide-AOE (maybe? I haven't checked), courage, reraise, protect, and shell yeah?
Oh please do this asap. This dispel seems to be getting more and more important when buffs are getting crazier. I need to know what is dispellable, what is not, who has dispel so far in the game, and if there's equipment that can help dispel too
Something tells me Sephiroth's vc will have devout on it, since both him and Kadaj have good devout units to team with in their respective elements in Sol/Shalze and Amnelis/Veritas of Water
This is really discouraging as someone who has tried to make to make the katana job work since job cards released. I’ve had multiple top 50-100 ladder finishes with katana, but Jeume and Ashen King have made that almost impossible. Maybe Young Owe can be that DPS carry I was hoping for.
Honestly that's kind of what I'm waiting for for Katana (Young Owe). As a Lightning Katana Unit (I'm predicting), not only will this new Sephiroth VC but the projected one that comes with Owe, likely push them to a higher pedastal. I'm still pulling Sephiroth and I think he's a good value overall (given what we have lined up). But yeah, Oberon the Auspicious and Dario have been slightly iffy in overall use.

He just doesn't interest me. Kitana job VC felt...lacking. Kitana units left lacking. Fire felt like a dumpter..that was on fire. He elevates a bad element to less bad? You counter ice... great...jueme exists. You do nothing to the "new drug Earth". I see Light maybe making a comeback not to mention greatsword teams.
@cedj4504 4th most popular unit among top 25 guilds in JP on attack(behind Jueme, Mont and Cloud). A2 is a close 5th so you can easily run Jueme, Cloud. A2 greatsword comp.

He’s the only unit that consolidates wide res remove, aoe crush, AND general dispel all in one kit/2 moves.
Would you recommend just investing in the VCs instead of the units this time around if we already have New Jeume and Ashen Mont?
