I pulled him, and i kind of regret it (mostly because i had to pity). It's not a bad unit, but the tank rol seems very underhweling in the current meta.

I did not plan on getting this but got lucky on 300 paid and got him right away to compensate on pitying exdeath+vc. Having banners with lvl 120 non limited characters became a trend already and he might be available on that if it appears on some event/celebration like anniv. I have pulled for lots of newer units but I still stick with Sadali Exia brain dead combo lol this meta is so good even 1 yr units like seph/cloud are very strong.

Certainly seems like a fun unique unit but permanent pool and quite drained in vis so...back to saving. Reminds me of the uniqueness of Celes back when she released at least with how she interacts with a specific dmg type. Also wanted to mention that his luck% imperil is first in a spammable skill but it really debuted with Ibara's LB.

Hope he comes home sooner than later....

Thank you for this! I got him on the 2nd step of the 2nd lap; I started this account during Yuna’s release, and so I’m excited to get his VC and to skip Maevia to go for Falsette and her VC (I really just like her as a character)!

I used to wallet to pull. Have more than enough units that I could run him mono light or GS with Seifer and Cloud. Eventually, Dark Veritas. Cards that slap on him so easy. I think honestly he is a must pull(if you have the limted units). New players... I can see skipping, but veterans should have enough to let him Meat Sheild while your other 2 clap the other team.

As a fan of Dragoons, it brings me joy that he has a Dragoon subclass.

another option for equipment is Genbu Ring. If you're building him as basic tank, can go Maximillion and Barrier Genbu Ring. Would open up TS's so that you could cover Disable, Doom, Sleep, and Blind, as well as the added 40% frostbite res for any potential Gilg comps.

I only skipped Mont just because he's non-limited. Overall he's a very strong unit but I think I'll let Thancred hold his position as a tank for the meantime. 😊

Hey will, on the topic of reincarnation, would you ever consider doing a true deep dive video on reincarnating a unit 80+ times and what the true difference between the same unit 80+ versus just 140, aside from an infusion of HP and either of mag/atk, or if it's an evade unit, a sizable amount of evasion. You're still one of the greatest we've ever had make content for this game and I'm glad you are still enjoying doing so.

Want to ask, with your settup sureka, lena, exdeath... can defeat super evade team? Isnt need Garuda VC for it? Or any skill for can hit super evade team?

Hi RPW! Do you think it's worth it to pull (and most likely pity) for ExDeath just for his TMR?

I'd use arena for a basic stat check and nothing more. Arena is too diffuse to be as useful as a scrim environment.

Have to say I never go hard on Arena anymore. Top 1k like you said is probably the best vis to work ratio. As in i do zero work and still get vis lol

I love y’all’s disdain for Angela haha. I don’t think she’s that bad though. Especially into the evade team. Her energy shot is a guaranteed hit and lowers evasion. My devout team dominates the evade girls and the earth iterations. But I know y’all mostly talk about her not being on the level of some of these other units like Exdeath and say she’s usable. Which is true but it Sseems like y’all just like hating on her haha.

This was a massive leap for Black Mage. Good thing, with all of those incredibly weak Shurecca running around out there, lol. The *feels bad* of this card is the basic removal of magic res a useful stat, and the added power of consolidation. Sure, main + sub Gloves were able to equal out to similar values, but whenever you can consolidate two VC effects into a single VC, the added power is tremendous. Just look at Melnia's card, or the FMA card for examples

Does Faulcette have slash attacks in her main kit will she chain with slash unit?

I just don't like that with 40% innate magic res pen + this card + truststone you get to 92% magic res pen, which makes magic res a useless stat :-(

Im beginning to miss the days of waiting(being able to save vis) for 3 months between units

take note: ff8 rerun will bring us EDea ( Light)? ff9 rerun will bring u KUJA ( fire) or light? Both are strong mage based chars and may benefit of it.... Not to count: Ashe from f12 ,may also be a sword mage, cloud of darkness from ff3 is ALSO another mage.... Keep em coming!!!

The new Luartha card is a gamechanger for gun - missile atk and luck, and human killer for physical in Duel. Has Gun and Greatsword overlap too. Gun units have fallen just a bit short with accuracy against Rikku Vinera teams, so a luck card that combos with Yuna's follow up and boosts her overall damage with Jayden is amazing. Mont slots right in too. It's even another luck card for GS. Amazing card, may be a must-pull.

Considering that the FFV is still running for another month or so and the volume of content character and VCs alike. is there any overall priority between exdeath, king mont, and there respective cards. I know it’s account/playstyle specific. Even long term viability of Gilgamesh and his card. It’s tough having finite viz with so many ridiculously good pulls.

Interestingly, we aren't getting Monts card this week. This means that unless they double us up somewhere, we are a week behind JP. May have something to do with February being a shorter month? We aren't far away from the next collab, so we'll see.

From pierce main perspective worst part about him for me is his release time. Ice isn't as strong now, evade girls can remove haste and on top of that Rikku is earth, so his best pierce partner isn't an option, and Veritas doesn't have any reasonable means to help him self sustain (at least in 2T buff). Really hope that he'll shine in the future, but rn there's way too many obstacles to make him work.
