Here's What Tattoo Machine Give Looks Like

Here's an example of how give works on a Spektra Edge X rotary machine. At full give I can literally push the needle back with my finger while the machine is running. I personally prefer direct drive machines (no give), but I think it's good to have a general idea of what give is.

So what does a ‘soft’ or hard give translate to? Is a hard give more like direct drive?
