Definitely like seeing digital features with analog sound. This is a really cool delay.

I'd love to compare this with the DOD Rubberneck. Similar, yet different!

I do like that analogue delays are becoming more complex. Usually one has to get one delay for slapback or longer delays for solos and such, and a completely separate digital delay for ambient, washy or noisy stuff. This way, you can have the nice top-end roll-off of an analogue delay, and a crazy mess of sound, all while using up only one board space, power supply terminal and tone-sucking connection in your signal chain. I use a Katana Artist, so there are plenty of delays in there at hand, but I also use a Tone City Tape Machine to split my signal into a wet amp with its own spring tank and trem circuit. I don't use the wet rig to record, but when I'm noodling around or showing off for company, the sound is YUGE. Tangent . . . over!

I notice you have reviewed the JHS Panther Cub in the past too.
I'm wondering how do you think they compare (since they both have the same chip, both are digitally-controlled analog pedals, both gave the FX loop, etc...).
Extra features aside, my impressions (from listening) are the Panther is more ragged and aggressive, more ideal for rhythmic delay while the Vapor Trail is darker, smoother, more fluid, more atmospheric sounding.
I'm not going to lie, I kind of want the Panther Cub because it's a Panther!...but I mostly use delay for atmospheric lead settings. Since you've actually played both these pedals I'm wondering if you had a similar impression to me or if you experienced them differently.
