    look forward to your vids Wayne t4s. Can I ask how that 701 faired alongside the mighty DRs? My next project will be one of these two - 701 or DR

      The Husky has loads of power and seems very hard to handle, it's also very high making it difficult to ride over large rocks and deep ruts without the worry of falling due to no footing!! I said to Russel I'd have a ride of it next time we go out together!!!!

      My thoughts. The 701 is a good bike, but still not as good as a DR :)
      More seriously, you can't really compare them. The 701 is a modern bike, with good suspension for serious off-road use, ride-by-wire throttle, etc... and has plenty of power (67 hp at the crank). It's lighter than a DR, too.
      The DR is old technology, heavy, underpowered (43 hp at the crank), equipped with cheap suspension forks, etc... but reliable and easy to fix on the trail. The only electronics it's got is the ignition :)
      So yes the 701 is much better... if you've got the money. It's way more expensive to buy and likely not as reliable or easy to fix. Also as Wayne said, it's quite tall and combined with its pretty heavy weight (compared to a proper dirt bike), it's easy to drop it when no footing. Russel is 6 foot 3 and did have some trouble in technical sections where there was a lack of good footing (but I must admit that we, on our DRs had trouble too, actually :) )

      Wayne Dowsent I think around early 2000s, still got it back on the farm with a busted timing chain, one day might think about fixing it!

    Wayne, I've really enjoyed all your videos. Your commentary is thoroughly entertaining. I have a question though... whatever happened to your mate DUSTY TAYLOR? We never see him in the videos anymore. Looking forward to the next one and thanks for posting these great videos!

    Just another reason why I’d take 2 wheels over 4 wheels (ATV) .. I really can’t see a banshee making it through that stuff.

    Hey Wayne like most of your vids "BUT" the last couple of vids with you and the crew riding after heavy rain on tracks that are used to access/service areas of the bush seems irresponsible, doing untold damage to these tracks for no useful purpose.
    As a dirt bike rider of over 45 years and 4 wheel driver we never went into the bush unnecessarily when there had been rain so we could avoid damaging tracks. I think it is very irresponsible the damage you are doing to the tracks in the name of fun.
    Eventually the powers that be will notice all the damage being caused to tracks by recreational users i.e. bike riders and 4x4 drivers and close the tracks to everyone forever.
    Just saying.

      I don't think we are irresponsible, but thank you for sharing your viewpoint; we will consider it.

      No worries just don't want to give the Greenies any excuse to lock us out of any more prime riding areas seeing we live in the NANNY state.
      cheers.

      Hey Rick I welcome your opinion! However I disagree with you. To be honest I don't think it makes much difference whether it's wet or dry, when it's dry and you make a track with your rear wheel it will open up and become deeper when it rains. These trails we ride have been getting worse and worse over the years, there's just no getting around it. The main trails get graded but the other trails we ride never do.

      Don't forget we are riding in State Forests which are used for logging. These trails will one day be logged & re planted.

      @rickdr6508 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your in title to your opinion, I know you haven't been riding that long but when you go off the main track and start knocking over small trees and running over foliage you are breaking the law incase you weren't aware
