There was a period of 2-3 years where Yaya was the most dominant midfielder in the Prem. Period. City fans should speak of Touré the same way Arsenal fans speak of Vieira

Yaya was better going forward, Vieira was better defensively. But both were very complete and versatile players. The two main powerhouse midfielders of the Premier League era.

He strikes the ball perfectly in an almost dead spin, passing motion, and he nails the top left corner. Technique wise, it has to be one of most impressive shots of all time.

Prime Toure - perfect modern football player. Maybe even best two-way player ever. Fast, powerful, great control, great anticipation, good pass and good shot from both legs, fantastic tackling, creative. Dude literaly had no weakneses. He could play a forward, winger, centre back, full back, playmaker, defensive midfielder and be a fanstically great at all this positions on the picth. Brilliant and unique player. I've never seen such a dominant two-way player as him.

Remember that players like Xavi, Iniesta, scholes and Pirlo all happen to the European midfield legends who never won any big individual honours in their prime and all four have had far more successful careers than Toure
Every Monday Henry isn't white yet many people are of the opinion that he deserved a balon d'or at some stage in his career. George weah is another one. Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'o etc aren't seem as underrated. Their legends and no one disputes that.
But to say Toure is the best ever premier league midfielder is an insult to scholes who bossed the United midfield for almost 2 decades, winning 10 league titles. It's an insult to Frank lampard, a midfielder who is the all time top goalscorer for a premier league club. He is 4th on the all time top scorer charts for goals in the premier league (The only midfielder in the top 10). 3 league titles, 4 fa cups. Not to mention he finished 2nd behind ronaldinho in the balon d'or award. Toure has been brilliant but 62 goals and 32 assists in 8 seasons isn't as good as scholes or lampard. Don't get me started on Roy Keane and Patrick Viera.
At best Toure would be the 5th best midfielder in premier league history

Toure is a better passer, dribbler, better vision and more a playmaker than Vieira was. I’m a chelsea fan and I love Lampard maybe Lampard is the better legend because he did it for longer but Yaya had the best season ever for a midfielder in 13/14 he carried City to the title. Scholes was a deep lying playmaker and yes he was phenomal and he’s probably the best because his peak was very high and he was consistent although his legend since he’s retired is making him out like he was as good as Zidane or xavi which is not the case. Gerrard isn’t even in the discussion because he chocked 2 premier league titles he never got it done and was overrated compared to Lampard who was way more disciplined defensively and postionally which made him less prone to errors like Gerrard was. For me Gerrard is 4th best box to box midfielder Lampard top Yaya second and Vieira third
