  • The dusitD2 Hua Hin in Thailand describes itself as "a modern hotel in Thailand's Royal seaside destination with stylish accommodation." People on the Agoda booking app seem to agree as it's rated at 9 out of 10 and "Exceptional".
But the price in February 2024 was under 2,000 Thai Baht (under $60) for a deluxe room. And they were also offering a "half board" deal for 2 people that worked out at around 3,000 Thai Baht (around $80).
I stayed for one night (at my own expense) and here I tell you everything you need to know about this recently added dusitD2 hotel!

I like this hotel. The half board arrangement seem to offer decent value. I appreciated the curves and the garden. I look forward to more Hua Hin videos.

Thanks, David. I found it a pleasant place to stay. Most chain hotel rooms look almost identical these days. So if you find a place where there's a bit of thought put into the design, it's definitely a plus! And having a garden was an unexpected benefit as well. Nice place to sit and unwind! Thanks, again!

They seem to offer a great breakfast! Thanks for reviewing this hotel!
I usually never take the half board option in Thailand as the street food scene offers so much yummy choices at low prices.

Thanks for the comment. Agreed, the breakfast was definitely above average. So many choices. I think the was the first time I've done half board. As you say, usually it's better to be out and about! But if, like me, you had a tight schedule and a tiring journey, it's a pretty good deal!

Another great Chaser presentation! Had to watch this right after one of Phil’s member videos where he was lambasting you for always being gone (all in fun of course). I find the term “crispy bacon” widely used but often disappointing as I like it so crisp that you can break it in your hands. Thailand is famous for it but too often it is still limpy and not crisp. Ok - I’ll try not to focus on the ridiculous. Your Hua Hin stuff has me really thinking about adding it on to my current trip - so you get the “well done” award. Haven’t stayed at one of the Dusit D2 places yet either.

Many thanks for the positive comment! The lengths some people (me) will go to so as to avoid working with Phil! And Monday I'm off to Phuket, again! I'm with you on the bacon. I usually ask for mine burnt, if they're cooking it fresh. I'm sure that's very healthy! If you have a chance, have a look around Hua Hin. It's got some pretty good beaches, reasonable nightlife, shopping centres and of course, great hotels! Well worth a night or two, I think.

Looks like a really nice hotel mate. The pool and the breakfast really appealed to me as well as the scrambled egg lady ! Another thorough and interesting hotel from you BC 👍🏼🍻🇦🇺

Thanks, for the positive comment as always, SG. For the price I found it decent value for the time of year. Breakfast ticked all of the boxes for me. And as regards the scrambled egg, she certainly was "sunny side up"!

Another brilliant hotel presentation BC. Great price for this modern curvy room. 555 Always wondered why you have to pay for breakfast for 2 when pre-booking even though traveling alone. Was it 200 baht buying breakfast as a single walk in? For that price I would stay for 2 hours and get breakfast and a lunch in me ....yes I am that guy hahaha. Wonder what they do with all the leftover foods from breakfast? Am sure they give away to staff or something like that . OK enough rambling ...Thanks again BC and keep up the good work

Many thanks for your support, Ric. I think the general point about breakfast is that it's usually cheaper to book it as part of the package if you think you're going to use it. In this case, the price per night with breakfast (for 2) was only about 200 Baht than the same room without brekkie. But if you change your mind and try to add breakfast as a walk in, it comes in at 590 Baht per person! Unbelievable! Well worth booking a room with breakfast even if travelling on your own. That's my best advice, anyway!

great video, thank you, i also spend time in Hua Hin this will be my second time, i arrive back in a couple of days, i usually spend around 7 weeks there.Just saying i think the pronoun cation of the town, is more like Wahh Hin as opposed to sounding like a rather naughty lady of the night hin, lol. Once again i enjoy your video`s keep them coming. thank you.

Thanks for your support. Pronunciation of the name always causes controversy. In Thai, it's definitely closer to "who-er", meaning head. People largely from the States or China go for the 'wah' hin version. I don't think as a foreigner one is more correct than the other. As long as we know where we are, I'm happy. And you obviously like the place, which is why you're coming back. I'm you'll have a great trip! Cheers!

excellent job, good looking hotel. was there crusty rolls for breakfast, like making my own bacon butty with brown sauce. also guest friendly ?

Hey BB! Thanks! There seemed to be most types of bread. Crusty bread any good to you? Don't often see real crusty 'cobs' here - the sort that nearly break your teeth! Brown sauce, I think they have. Didn't see any indication that it was a problem to bring guests in. In fact, the reverse. Although I didn't put it to the test again!

The curves are handy if you have had a big night. No sharp edges to rattle your head on.

Thanks, Toby. Can't be doing with square edges. Normally, because I have a tendency to walk into them even when stone cold sober!

Nice report mate , do u know of a HH place that have at least a 25 m lap pool?

    • @balloonchaser
      @balloonchaser  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thanks for the question! The honest answer is I don't. Seems most hotel swimming pools are more aimed at playing than actually swimming. I did visit the Verso once, and that had nice pools. But whether you could really swim there, I can't really say!

Worst experience ever in thailand . We took two room and our family holiday to celebrate my Birthday. Horrible horrible experience . Zero customer service , dusty rooms , ill-manner restaurant staff. Understaffed and ill-equipped facilities . We were there February 2024 !

Wow, sorry to hear that! Wonder what went wrong? Doesn't sound like my experience at all. Hopefully, it didn't totally ruin your birthday celebrations. Thanks for your comment.
