- Hello everyone! I'm UnsungNPC, and today we're RANKING and JUDGING the gods of Golarion! I thought it'd be fun to just talk about which gods I like in the Pathfinder lore and hopefully you'll let me know what you think too! I'd love to hear about it.

There are 2 Calistria worshippers in Wrath.
One of them is in your party, Woljiff. And while he's an asshole at times, he's still reliable and fun to have around.
The other Calistrian is an assassin you meet in Act 4 and she has several *very* good reasons behind her vendettas.
Watching you praise Asmodeus to such relaxing music brought me some sweet vibes! I'm here for it XD

@@Marinanor nononono. Definitely a ranking if who I like. If it was power, Sarenrae would be near the top. Never would've stopped rovagug without her
Cayden is outright one of my favorite tabletop gods period. In lore he has a group of followers that just travel the world trying to find a proper home for kids that lost their parents. Even breaking the law if said kids were sold as slaves.
Hell yeah fuck slavery! Save the kids! He's a legend.

He has a duality because he's literally mad. Sarenrae just goes off her whims. I stand by it.

I love Nethys as a god of magic because he is the embody of magic, it can do all kinds of things and he doesn't judge or tell his mortals what to do with it. So you can have cults of Nethys that use magic or magic knowlegde in different ways, like one want to teachs everyone how to use magic while another wants to hoard all magic for themselves. He just so refreshing from other settings where the gods of magic are very one note or have multiple gods for different kinds of magic.
His ascension story is also pretty funny, because before he was a god, he told his king friend the wonders of magic and when he ascended and his friend died, he gave visions of the horrors of magic to his friend's son, which scared him so much that he burned all the churches of Nethys. This why saying that you had a vision of Nethys is such a taboo in the cults, cause Nethys doesn't do that anymore.

Yeah they both have eyes and this tier list didn't include gyronna for whatever reason and did aroden which you cant even worship in game (and this list was made based on the woshipable ones from the game not the ttrpg) so that's my bad for not seeing that but also weird they did that when making the list

It sounds to me like you like Law but don't care for Good and also care for expansionary cultures over nature and self-improvement. Probably Lawful Neutral more leaning towards evil then good.
I mean, yes I like law. I'm not one for chaos if I have to choose one or the other. I actually love good, the issue is that I find the good gods mostly boring or meh. Because I'm not an evil person, evil gods seem way more interesting.
This guys reasonings are really reductive and he has 0 understanding about undeath within Pathfinder. He has a large bias towards lawful gods, a large lack of understanding of the nature of chaos (everytime he gets to a chaotic god he just goes “smh I don’t get it”), and has no more than a surface deep understanding on these deities and their purposes.
@@TheNorthernGrey You understand this is just a tier list right? If I dove deep into every deity's life story, this vid would be hours long. I've played Pathfinder for 8 or 9 years, I know enough to make my own opinions. I'm making this video for MY opinions, not to sway the masses to my side. Who you favor is your business. I'm allowed to loathe chaos if I want. I'm also going off how the gods are framed in THIS game.
@@unsungnpc8918 its just really clear that you have no real grasp of how the world in pathfinder works. This tier list was genuinely awful to sit through as someone who genuinely loves pathfinder. All of your arguments are extremely reductive, and have no real substance other than "law cool chaos annoying." If I could sign a contract with Asmodeus to get back the 45 minutes I just wasted on your page, I would in a heartbat.
@@unsungnpc8918 It is your opinion but just as you can voice it others can voice criticisms of it.
For example, Asmodeus is just as one dimensional in function and purpose as Iomedea however he is ranked much higher. I was making the observation that you seem to think of cruelty as a 3-dimensional personality trait.
It's similar to what I call the batman and superman syndrome. Batman is liked for being edgy and the underdog choice so much that he is actually the mainstream choice between the two now, not Superman.

Why undeath suck is deep lore for pf that’s something you go looking for
I know there's lore behind it. I've read up on a lot of the lore, but I still think their reasoning isn't justified enough.
@@unsungnpc8918 undeath is going against the laws of the natural universe. You are using negative energy to selfishly reverse the cycle of souls and live in eternal undeath, poisoning everything around you with your necrotic energy. Undead are supported fully by negative energy which is meant to rip apart the material plane. Becoming undead or using the corpses/souls of others as flesh puppets is purely selfish and evil.
@@TheNorthernGrey Just cause your canon of the undead is forcing souls and bodies to be used for your purposes doesn't mean it's accurate. Nowhere does it say everyone has to do necromancy in the same way. You can make deals with spirits or get people to volunteer their bodies. Also, I've played 3 Paizo written campaigns and not in any one of them were there basic level undead that left trails of negative energy around them poisoning the land. Not in their stat blocks, not a real fact. Not subscribing to a natural order of things isn't inherently evil just cause you disagree with it. Undead, blood magic, making pacts with devils, those are all tools. How I use them is what makes it good or evil.
@@unsungnpc8918 You are literally denying people theeir right to go to their outer plane, that is a purely evil act. Undead are powered by negative energy, which is tied to evil. Just because you don't gte something doesn't mean you can just deny the way it exists. You're denying eternal rest. Pure selfishness.
@@TheNorthernGrey If all parties involved agree to it or a spirit wants to stick around then it isn't selfish. Can Spiritualists and Summoners only be evil? That makes no sense.

You are siding with the oppressors, they ganged up on him the poor guy fighting alone against everyone.
The "poor guy" wanted to destroy the entire known world. And yeah the others ARE oppressors. All gods and divine beings are bad imo. But I vote to keep the world alive every time.

@@Ragatokk but Groetus doesn't want to destroy the world himself. He just waits for the end to come. Because it is inevitable but I still think we should enjoy it while it lasts. There's just no way you can justify a god trying to literally kill and destroy everyone. Not a chance.
