hi adam great video as usual the i/c on the briggs motor means industrial commercial which means it has a cast iron bore and can be bored and honed unlike the alluminium bores keepup the good work
I got a shiny new 25 l drum of engine oil from a skip, I even looked in there to check and saw lovely new clean oil , I was rubbing my hands with glee all the way home, when I went to use it 1 liter of oil came out and 24 lires of manky water. 😂
im always buying oil. cheap rubbish.odd ball viscosity. used it for years in my chainsaws.and before anyone comments i never seized a chain or bar yet.got the best oiled shed hinges going as well. nice load you got.
Adam, that Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) is concentrated chlorine bleach. That quantity was probably used in either swimming pool chlorination or Commercial industrial food prep area sanitation. Be careful handling and you may want to dilute it before using
Bear in mind that at 60 Hrz output that it's not the UK 50Hrz. However it should be fine for lighting. The box has been modified to give just 240 vac but it could easily be revamped to duel voltage again
Hi Adam good haul wee Berlingo does you proud, hope you're good Lady is keeping better very brave you two take care love and regards from Scotland⚙️🇬🇧🏴🎥
Just be careful with your cutting and grinding discs as the compound can break down in them and you need to check the use by date that is on the silver washer part that attaches to your grinder, be safe mate.
Sodium Hypochlorate is used in farm dairies to clean the milk pipes after milking the cows. That generator is American 60Hz mains... Hope you clean the grit out of the gas regulator, from your yard, before you get any grit into the valves.
Hi Adam, You have got yourself some great bits there you are going to be very busy with all that stuff, Take care of yourself and In joy yourself.🛠️🛠️🛠️⭐️👍👌🎅
Sodium hypochlorite is a green/yellow liquid with the characteristic smell of chlorine. It was first used as a bleaching agent and was then discovered to be effective in controlling wound infections. Subsequently, it is most commonly known as household bleach.
just be CAREFUL! the stuff in that drum may be a LOT more concentrated than the household bleach available in shops. bulk sodium hypochlorite is often used in swimming pool treatment hence the much higher concentration then ordinary household bleach from a shop.
@@tech4pros1 14% or thereabout is also used to remove white or black spots when pressure washing concrete/stone paths. Pressure wash first and then spray with hypo, dilute by half (ish), leave 15 mins, and rinse off. As you say, BE CAREFUL. The Gen has too many Hertz, I said about it in the look around video. To operate 50 Hertz you may consider an inverter which could produce 3 phase if you need it.
Possibly swiss made like a Boley for example. Nice piece of kit. Unfortunately accessories cost a small fortune. Keep a look out at car boots etc. you may get lucky.
The grinding discs look like the 4" discs fit the 4" angle grinder. The bore is smaller than the 4.5" angle grinder. The other discs, 115mm fit the 4.5" angle grinder.
I'm absolutely not suggesting that people should buy a second hand empty gas bottle on marketplace rather than paying the really expensive deposit.......😜
Yeah, mega noise at 3600rpm and 60hz which isn’t ideal….. or slow it down to 3000 / 50hz and be under voltage. May be possible to sort with an adjustable avr?!
My Dad threw a lathe just like that away.about 1976 think it was his WW1 Dad's. I bet someone grabbed it though. He didn't believe it was worth any money.never did believe me
Did you buy this much before you did u tube or are you buying to have content for your videos. Is it an obsession buying stuff that could get out of hand. I am moving far away and clearing so much i have collected its shocking. I think i may have had an adiction to stuff but now have no sentimentality for any of it strangely
Why do people with great mechanical knowledge buy vehicles as mechanicly terrible as a Citroën berlingo? Nice purchases, though. That lathe looks fun !
Great video. Looking forward to seeing the generator start up video. 👍👍
So jealous. Had a lathe once but had to sell it when I hit hard times. You have some really cool stuff.👌👍👍
I love the little lathe.

Never thought of checking cutting discs for use by date . Always check grindstones after father had one shatter at work. .luckily wearing full mask 😮

headstock moves so you can change the chuck speed, as the motor is fixed. nice find👍( correction the motor is slotted to tension the belt)😉

The little lathe, the headstock moves, to line the drive belt up.

The lathe, is a jeweller's lathe, for watch makers, etc
At 4.14 Alfred Hitchcock Makes his usual appearance but no double bass this time. Right good haul of stuff this time. Cheers

Make sure those discs are in date. The weird disc is for grinding concrete
It must of been a very quick 2 hours the clouds didn't even move 😊 great haul though. Sodium hypochlorite is strong bleach.
That disc is a diamond grinding wheel for finishing off concrete. A quick question do you ever find planer thicknessers at these auctions?

you got some bargains there adam and I love the genny
Looking forward to first start 👍🏻👍🏻

Or just reduce the engine speed to bring it down to 50hz.
@ that lowers the voltage too.

Looks like RAF gen or usaf generator
added bonus when you dont look lol
Would be more concerned with the lack of zinc than the grade of the oil. Do the old stationaries need the zinc in the oil?
Nice bud asome
Nice haul! Sodium hypochlorite commonly known as bleach.
The generator is a little gem a great bargain.
Adam, please do not oil or spray with WD40 on the Bendix. They run dry only. Oil causes problems on them.
I'm absolutely not suggesting that people should buy a second hand empty gas bottle on marketplace rather than paying the really expensive deposit.......😜
one problem you have is that the UK uses 50hz not the 60hz your generator is (US)
Yes as soon as I heard 16 hp at 3600 rpm I thought it must be 60 hz presumably the governor can just be set down to 3000 rpm to give 50 hz.

take that generator off that 16HP engine and put it on a Gocart weeeeeee

@steveC2 as a former Peugeot citroen mechanic, and given you have C2 in your screen name, I'm going to say my question stands. 😅
