I echo that sentiment Tony, Gerry Marsden and the Pacemakers were all a wonderful band. And Ferry Cross the Mersey is certainly a genuine sentiment of the pride Gerry and the people of Liverpool displayed toward their beloved city. My grandfather was born in Newcastle and came to the US as a young lad. I always had a great affinity and liking of all the British bands, that being the Beatles, the Animals, and of course Gerry and his Pacemakers. He was a fine man, and a true humanitarian. May he rest in peace.

So good to hear. I lived in Liverpool in 1975. This San Franciscan learned that every word of Gerry's song rang true. I tell my son (I'm 65 and my son is 35), the people in Liverpool had so much heart, kindness and gentleness. You could hear it in the way they spoke. I said I could always hear their hearts in their voices. Beautiful people.
I play Gerry's song everyday. Great to hear,Tadpole, that he was a nice man.

I saw Gerry several years ago at a Beatles convention....was sitting in the front rows and he was sitting on the edge of the stage with his guitar....I sang along with all the others as he sang this and "Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying"....one of my most happy memories.....Thanks Gerry, Love you 💜 ✨✨✨

I saw Gerry and the Pacemakers in Fort Wayne, Indiana, spring of 1965, maybe 1964, in a Shindig or Hullaballoo road show. Mersey Beat was my thing; I was a young teen. R.I.P. , YNWA, and *96* forever remembered. LFC, Anfield, Gerry, EPL.

Great song. I had the privilege of seeing Gerry live many years ago at a concert in Sault Ste. Marie ON CANADA along with otners from the British Invasion. I must state Gerry was in my humble opinion the best performer. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity. Thanks for the music Gerry.
