- A quick guide (or maybe i'm just VERY LATE to the party) on how to quickly access and use Anby's Thunderbolt Basic Attack and her EX Special in combat!
This is not a secret ZZZ tech per se, but the move list description probably doesn't state the flexibility of Anby's core skills.

@@TheOneGPJ as a few people mentioned here, her skill description tell you about the quick access Ex special in her default attack chain. But it also mentions increased effectiveness. As such I have only ever used thunderbolt into Ex and never the other way around. However the alternative way looks promising for continued combos and would simply be useful to have. My concern is that doing Ex second will make it lose that increased effectiveness offered for doing it before thunderbolt. Did you do enough testing to see if you lose any stun or damage between the 2 chains?
tldr: press atk 3 times, hold atk, then press e
Or you can do e first and then thunderbolt automatically comes out if you mash attack

@@madhurgoyal12Yeah, but if you do thunderbolt after, you can juggle your enemy by spamming dash cancel with either Anby or nicole and it looks funny seeing them, float mid air.
I’m glad you brought awareness to this because me who plays fighting games noticed that she always stops with the spark animation at the end of 3rd hit or ex move and thought “can I follow up” then bam. I knew I wasn’t the only who noticed it. Apparently core passive explains this but keep finding more dude.

it's written in her tutorial that her thunderbolt combo increase the effectiveness of her ex-special.
I’m already doing this since the start of the game. One advantage of using the EX skill is that they have I-frames, so you can EX>Thunderbolt instead of Thunderbolt>EX to dodge early incoming attacks, or just be flexible and use it according to the enemies movement.
Both combo routes also trigger her core passive for both moves, meaning both the thunderbolt and the EX special have their daze buffed. This also works with her normal special as well, so you can add one more move to her basic combo to squeeze out a little more daze. I like doing NA x3 > normal special > thunderbolt > switch cancel

I also often do combos until thunderbold then exskill. So which one is for greater efficiency of exskill to get daze? After 3 basic att then exskill, or after thunderbold.??
I learned the second way accidentally while trying to make sense of the first way. It's a lot easier for my brain to understand putting the regular attack and EX attack one after another instead of mixed together.
It has it uses. Depending on the enemy, you can use the EX special to avoid damage while still output Daze consistently. Most of the time, I use the Basic-Ex combo since enemies tend to attack during the 3rd hit. However there are times where the enemies are delayed, so I save the EX after Thunderbolt so that I can avoid the delayed attack.
Using Special first instead of Thunderbolt is usually better in combo rotations because you can enable chain attacks sooner
REGARDLESS IF IT IS THE EX OR REGULAR SPECIAL
i tried this and i prefer the ex to be last cuz the sequence is way quicker than the regular one
I've always done Thunderbolt first before EX Special... I didn't even know you can do EX Special first THEN Thunderbolt! 🤣Thank you
EX special gives i frames so use enemy attack signals to decide whether to exp special or thunderbolt first

It's actually a doc on the three main hares (my main team, Anby, Billy, Nicole), but the Anby section is the most filled out right now. Unfortunately I can't make a video on it as I don't have the equipment for that but I would love to spread the google doc to more people!

When the tutorial taught me this, I always thought this was just the natural combo. I didn't even know you could get the quick ex special after the sheathe animation
I played Anby wrong, then noticed the Bolt cancel with E and never went back ^^.
You can time this string perfectly vs the dog to get invournability on your E animation while that thing tries to hit you ^^.
Gotta dashattack the thing though and have energy ofc. Anby is just the perfect Shoto of ZZZ and i love it :D

I discovered the double combo on accident on my 2nd day playing
Quick note is that outside of delay your daze output of your ex drastically increases if you do the 3 basic attacks first
Also, you can chain 3 basic attacks into a non-ex special attack, into thunderbolt. Pretty sure it deals more daze than the regular combo

not like she's a hard character to play, you just gotta know some combo tech and you're good
I think her passive states that if you use her Ex right after thunderbolt it gets like 60% more daze at max rank. Still a good thing to show people who may not have realized.
That combo is in her tutorial. Pretty much you can't do the max daze combo of Anby (3 basic + holdATK + EX) on some boss/elite mobs since it takes a lot of time. Either use just EX or 3 basic + EX/HoldATK on longer window timeframe.
I think her tutorial have told us about that combo where you're recommended to do 3NA -> hold -> skill/ex skill, so maybe you should do the tutorial for other char too to know their "best" or recommended combo 😂

Oh, I didn’t know there’s a move list in the game. Now that’s useful. I can do DMC style in ZZZ now,
IMO, both of the combo routes work in some scenarios the best
Thunderbolt to EX > easier time to switch cancel to your next or previous units + Anby on the way up (like a Shoryuken)
EX to Thunderbolt > better blast for groups of enemy
Either way, small optimizations can go a long way

I keep seeing that combo when I Was still keyboard smashing in the first day. lol
Trying to maximize Anby as early in the game, I thought this tech would be common knowledge. Then again, for people who don't play Anby this is new.
Now the question is which one of the two is better? Ex-Special before or after thunderbolt? I personally use Ex-Special first for the i-frames.
For me TB to special since it's easier to switch out off to my next character
@@TheOneGPJ Special has the longer animation (or at least that's what I feel like after abusing it's i-frames all the time) so I guess switching out mid-combo makes sense. Thanks for the tip, will probably help me build up daze in stronger enemies.

I've been doing this with Anby for a while now. Have no idea if it was good or anything, I just do it because it was the best looking attack string.

You should do normal into ex into finisher, it is stated in description that ex doing more damage and stun if performed as a part of the combo. Doing standart combo into standalone ex makes you lose dps.

itsnt E faster if you time it after third basic atack? if you do this, anby doesnt lauch herself in the air and you can do fast basic atack after that
Anby won't launch herself if you don't have EX Special and you kinda can't choose your Special at all

so instead of paused, I can do hold which is much faster?
Well for me it's easier to hold but I'm sure someone will have an easier time with the input being delayed

It was. But a lot of hoyoplayers don't bother with ingame tutorials or lore unless it's in a youtube video.
Nah the movelist only told you can either get Thunderbolt or Ex Special to come out from BA string
@@TheOneGPJ yeah and also that you can hold after the third attack, but it didn't mention that you can chain them however you want
The only thing i wasn't aware of was that you can use EX skill first then Thunderbolt, instead of the other way around. This honestly gonna help a lot when fighting enemies that attack fast.
Not really. Anby’s tutorial only tell you her her skill/Ex skill come out faster after 3rd basic. It doesn’t tell you that you can still do thunderbolt (her hold/timed 4th attack) right after
This is something unique to Anby for now, for any other characters they’d reset back to their 1st basic after using skill
