Man I can't thank you enough! I've spent countless hours behind the torch, reading forums and watching videos trying to figure out silver fume. This video finally unlocked it for me and I'm getting amazing colors now instead of whitish hazy ugliness ... thank you!
Quick tip- u won't have to use that much silver if u thro an ear plug into the other end of that tube 👍😊 When left open the fume travels up and out the other end. If u close that end up or toss an ear plug in it then it stops the fume from traveling up ward so it stays focused at the bottom where ur work is. U'll save on time too. Thanks for ur videos BTW! I really enjoy them. Keep up the good work! 🔥
You are correct, unfortunately that messes up the flame chemistry inside the tube. As well it does make it harder to control how even the silver is fumed in the tube.

This was just a how it`s made not a how to, I know it's a stupid distinction, but I didn't have any editing software or filter for my camera when I shot this. I plan on doing a step-by-step in the next couple of months. So keep your eyes open.

With silver it helps to have the glass a lil colder than you normally would. Not sure why but the colors that come from it are amazing g

use an earplug to plug the end of ur blowtube, stops heat from going up the tube and burning ur hand
That it does, but also creates eddies(not sure if the correct spelling for this), and the silver doesn't coat the surfaces the way I want it to.
How close to the wall is ok for your kiln to be?
It really depends on the kiln, mine is about 9 inches away in this video.
I have a paragon it's 2 or 3 inches from the wall but I have ceramic blanket between kiln and burnable spots
