As I sit here at 5 am and watch this video, tears are falling down my cheeks. Your channel is so calming. With every day stresses we all have (a 91 yr old Mother-in-law, with dementia who lives with us; a son who has just been diagnosed with diabetes) you give me peace and calm. Thank you for that! ❤️ My sympathies for your father's passing.
Hello Kate, I'm so sorry to hear of your dad's death. He's with your mum, now. You will always miss them. You have your wonderful memories of them. Agnes's quilt is awesome. She's very blessed to have such a wonderful grandmother. You are very blessed to have your close knit family. I love watching your videos. I feel as though I'm right there with you. Hi from Yakima, Washington. I loved your christmas story - it was brilliant! Listened to it several times. My sincerest condolences on the loss of your dad. A lifetime of memories keeps our loved ones close in heart and mind. Looking forward to the next year - and having more adventures with The Last Homely House. 😊❤
Hello Kate, I’m in the Pacific Northwest out on the Olympic Peninsula of WA. USA. and so thrilled to have found you on TH-cam. Just joyed by your videos, color choices and projects. Been watching since a month ago. Just got inspired to get back into sewing crafts thanks to a quilting neighbor who shares her quilting room with two other neighbors and me weekly for two hours. Get out of your head and into your hands is so true. Im not a quilter, but through our weekly gathering Im learning and watching patterns and technique. Then, watching and listening to you, Im thrilled and delighted to have sewing and creating back in my life! Learned to stitch by hand from my mom when I was about 8 years old. Pleasant memories. Best of a New Year to you and your corner of the world!
My sympathies for the loss of your dad 😢I lost my dad to covid in April 2020 😢time is a great healer 💋I also sat with my brother for 6wks running up to his passing😢which was soo very hard to do ,but I came home every evening after my visits and I got on my machine and sewed and sewed, it took me to another place away from my pain 😊 so very helpful, hopefully your continued sewing will help you with the loss of your dad ❤ god bless you Kate ❤❤
When I see Eileen swimming on the lake, I just LOVE her! Every time. Her company must be a special thing for you. 💞 Thank you Kate for all you show us in 2022, and here's to more fun in 2023! Much love ❤
Happy New Year Kate! So good to see you again, sorry that you lost your dad, I lost my husband in June and it has been very different this year without him. Stay well, looking forward to hanging out on the sofa in 2023!

So nice to see you again and to hear your voice. Many hugs and squishes to you. So sorry to hear about your Dad. It was good that you took time off to grieve. Grief doesn't have any top, sides, or bottom and will sometimes smack you right upside the head when you least expect it. My Dad has been gone for 25 years. Seems like just yesterday. Never apologize for having feelings. Thanks so much for visiting with us tonight. What a special time this was. I'm going re-watch the whole video again, it was so lovely and I cherish the time that you take to share your life with us. Thank you for being "real". xoxoxo P.S. Loving the progress on Agnes' quilt.
Dear Kate. I truly enjoy each and every you tube video. It has been so special to meet Anna. John, Agnus and the rest of your beautiful family and friends. I feel most honored to have a place on your Lime Green Sofa and look forward to next year with great anticipation. Happy New Year and love to you and your family.
I'm wishing you a year filled with health and peace! You are such a blessing. I know you were a wonderful daughter. Heaven is busy--our sympathy to you and your family--I'm hopeful our dads meet up there. Today's video was so sweet, thank you. I'm reminded of the children's poem by Mary O'Neill about colors: The colours live Between black and white In a land that we Know best by sight. But knowing best Isn’t everything For colours dance And colours sing And colours laugh And colours cry Turn off the light And colours die, And they make you feel Every feeling there is From the grumpiest grump To the fizziest fizz. And you and you and I Know well Each has a taste And each has a smell And each has a wonderful Story to tell...
I lost my dad a few days ago. It was sudden and unexpected. I am still feeling quite devastated at his loss, even though I know he is really alive now. It's just not easy losing a good parent. May you be blessed this new year.

That was lovely Kate. Thank you. I agree about the thereputic effects of hand quilting. My Mum died in June and while not unexpected, it takes a while to regain some kind of equilibrium as you know. Getting it "out of the head and into the hands" is a lovely way to ease moving forward. Every good wish and blessing for 2023. I look forward very much to joining you on the Lime Green Sofa. :)
Happy New Year Kate 🎉 So very sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. May you and your family treasure the memories you all made with him. Thanks for reminding us of all the lovely projects that have happened in the last year. Looking forward to 2023, and excited to see what plans you and Anna have made. Take care.
Thank you Kate for your advice about getting out of your head and into your hands when you have a problem. I needed to hear that right now. Instead of spending the evening worrying, I am going to spend it knitting. Thank you again.

Kate, so sorry for the loss of your Dad. Keep your memories close at heart to cheer your soul. On a completely different topic, could Anna share her violin by playing on one of your youtube videos? I would dearly love to hear her play. Thank you for your TH-cam presentations. You put me in mind of my Scottish Nana who would draw us in to her hand work projects when we came for a visit. Sewing, knitting, ceramic work, making medicinal poultices, jams, jellies, shortbread, currant cake, etc. You, Kate, invoke memories of her and have provided company for me since my husband passed in 2020. Thank you for sharing your hands and heart.
Ahhh, Kate. I pray that you have deep peace, good sleep, good health, lots of family love, and real healing as you grieve the loss of your beloved father. We always knows these days are ahead of us, but there is no way to ever be "ready." * Godspeed, Sir. You raised an amazing daughter, who raised amazing children, who will raise amazing children. We thank you for the part you played in sending love into each of the succeeding generations. Well done.

I have a big sunroom with lots of Windows and have turned it into my sewing and quilting room and am thinking of making curtains similar to yours. I know it will take a long time, but I can dream...
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at the heart breaking loss of your dad.
Losing your parent is unbearable.
You are such a amazing lady and daughter to him.
We are all on the line green sofa sending you huge huge hugs
Take care and go steady xx
The world needs more people like you. Thank you for all the helpful and wonderful ideas and instructions on how to do all the things you do. God bless you and your family and your fur babies. 😊❤❤

love and light for your dads journey home and love and healing sent to you Kate and your family its so sad when we lose our love ones.
Very sad news. You will have lots of wonderful memories for both your parents Kate xx
Thank you Kate for all you show us in 2022, and here's to more fun in 2023! Much love ❤
Happy New Year Kate! So good to see you again, sorry that you lost your dad, I lost my husband in June and it has been very different this year without him. Stay well, looking forward to hanging out on the sofa in 2023!
So wonderful to see you today. Loved all the conversation of times past and plans going forward. I love your channel Kate, you’re a breath of fresh air. ❤️😁🌹
Kate!!😆 Happiest of holidays to you and everyone 💕 everywhere. Let's all try really hard like Kate and spread love and knowledge everywhere we go. Love love love you so much. Muahhhh and smooch smooch 😘. Peace and love for 2023.....xoxo ❤️ 😍
Watching and listening always brings me peace. So sorry for your loss; bless you and your family with comfort and fond memories.
"Out of your head and into your hands.". Such wisdom!! Thank you for that.
Its wonderful to see you again Kate, sending you my deepest sympathy, now they are in each other arms again. Sending love x
I'm reminded of the children's poem by Mary O'Neill about colors:
The colours live
Between black and white
In a land that we
Know best by sight.
But knowing best
Isn’t everything
For colours dance
And colours sing
And colours laugh
And colours cry
Turn off the light
And colours die,
And they make you feel
Every feeling there is
From the grumpiest grump
To the fizziest fizz.
And you and you and I
Know well
Each has a taste
And each has a smell
And each has a wonderful
Story to tell...
I lost my dad a few days ago. It was sudden and unexpected. I am still feeling quite devastated at his loss, even though I know he is really alive now. It's just not easy losing a good parent. May you be blessed this new year.
It's so good to see and hear from you, Kate. I enjoyed the recap of 2022 but at the same time I extend my sympathies to you and your family on the loss of your father. I'm so glad you took the time needed to honor his life. Looking forward to what you will share with us in the new year - especially the progress of Anna's quilt. I'm SO excited for this as I too am learning right along with Anna. Much love to you and your family.

So good to see you again, Kate! I’m so sorry you lost your Dad not long ago. It’s very hard to lose our parents. Mine both passed away during the pandemic. I miss them. Sending much love your way😘
Oh, Kate. I just found out your dad passed away. I'm so sorry to hear this news. I pray you receive comfort from above. My prayers go out to you and your family. 🤍🕊
Ur denem jacket blows me away, it's just so absolutely cute. Thanks ❤ 4 sharing. LiLLy
Best wishes always. Be well, be safe, do things with love whole hearted. The memories make the losses all worth the risks. Thank you all for sharing!
So sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. While you were certainly missed here, I'm glad you took time to spend with family. Was fun looking back at the year and can't wait to see what you decide for the border on the quilt for Agnes.
I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. Prayers to you and your family. ❤🙏
I’m sorry to hear you lost your Father, Kate. Peace be with you 🥰

So sad to hear your father is died. But it was good to take time for you and your family. Every sunday evening around 8 o'clock I was looking for a video, but I understand why you didn't make one. You did a great job with Agnes quilt. Looking back of your videos: , you did a lot in the last year. I hope you have a wonderfull creative 2023. And I will be on the lime green sofa.

Oh Kate, please accept my condolences for your loss of your dad… of course you needed a break to get out of your head and into your hands.. welcome back, to the lovely community that you created, with your fantastic quilts, which are a work of art. I hope that you and your family have a very happy 2023 and I hope the lime green sofa carries on to stretch around the world several times. I didn’t just enjoy the vlog, I LOVED IT, sorry for shouting xxxxxxxx but I couldn’t help it xxx❤
HAPPY NEW YEAR…Kate and everyone on the LGS……..such a joy to watch and be part of. Thank you Kate…hugs Dottie xx
Well done.
I'm so very sorry to read about your Dad...just know you are loved by your extended family here on the lime green sofa and mahoosive hugs are coming to you. Thank you for The fabulous Cider with Rosie story and I'm looking forward to New Years Eve. Take time to be with your family and little Agnes.... Let's hope for a Happier and Peaceful New Year ... Much love Sue x
