Always said that I love the company of Hammers supporters. Been to a few games at the old Boleyn ground and always had a lovely time and some good banter down the pub when I let slip I’m a Liverpool supporter. I hope that die hard supporters can unite more on key issues - without them, the game loses soul and identity
As an LFC fan who was taken to Anfield by my dad in the 70's and early 80's. I started going home and away myself from 84 onwards. I was lucky enough to see LFC win everything through the years but now I do not even attempt to get hold of a ticket due to the cost and the rigmarole involved. Liverpool tickets are like gold dust. Thankfully my 2 sons do get to games, but not as many as they would like. Sadly, local Liverpool fans have had their noses pushed out due to the clubs success and the high demand for tickets. No disrespect to the out of town reds but local fans should have first refusal on tickets. Scouse reds are the heartbeat of the club but can't get hold of tickets to support the team they love.
If fans supported their local clubs that would certainly help the issue. Why someone in the south of England would support a northern team and vice versa has always remained a mystery to me.
If you want to rescue the game, stop going to matches. Soon change things for the better. Every aspect of our lives is going this way because we won’t take a stand and yes make a few sacrifices.
