I’ve tried to separate monorails and each time they just destroyed the whole rail by just turning it on, kind of embarrassing how buggy the game actually is
Why would you think that they can’t make one, people that make these videos are making them for other people to help them and share how to do this. Why are you hating on it, so what if there in sandbox mode, I wouldn’t make the video in survival because it would take way longer to get everything. Just seem like a waste of time if your doing it for these reasons.
I try to make the rail system but I think there A hard cap limit and would have to make another rail system to get from desert village to grassland village. It took like 700 wood to get the hard cap range in distance. And if any more from a new rail and connect to it. It would delete that whole new rail line.
You can continue building in the same direction with a new section of track spaced just one stud away from the one where you are experincing the build limit. I will be making a video on how to accomplish this in survival soon but I do breifly go over this topic in my latest video on my channel.
Yes, unfortunatly with as glitchy and buggy as LEGO Fortnite is, a majority of monorail designs fail. I just posted a new video outlining a new design that I have been running for a few weeks and have had the best luck with.
good. cuz some of us wanna play survival cuz of how there's a light sprinkle of physics involved. (such as GRAVITY!) so thanks for not using the flying mode.
This is very helpful but if you are just travelling not transporting you’re stuff then just build a flying machine you can make ones that don’t glitch by making them without thrusters for steering and instead use the pushing method hope this helps😊
Agreed! I’m just a stubborn person and wanted to get a successful monorail after so many failed attempts haha. Plus this is connecting my desert biome to my home base so I can load up on resources and materials and bring a lot back from one trip.
The wheels are the most unreliable thing in the entire game right now. Every design that I've created with wheels has failed entirely. I just posted a new deisign on my channel that does not use any wheels and is far more reliable while retaining good speeds.
After i logged out and back in, it was buggy and made a lot of noise because of the foundation part(between the chests) but still worked so idc. Probably bugs that they will fix hopefully
@@trentpow4I'll check it out for sure, but until they dont fix the toys to fly away and being destroyed for no reason Im done with it. Wasted so much time on trains and planes 😒
First, I absolutely love the design path you took on this, including the update video you followed up with to fix an issue and make it so all the points of contacts between vehicle and track were wheels. My installation did not go as smoothly as yours, but I got it done and it was working. I did have issues with the boarding for a bit, but managed to use a small thin floor piece to add a step up on the ends of the vehicle. That said, after last night's update, I log back on into the grasslands settlement where I logged out, finish playing with the new inventory counts in the chests there, then headed out the gate and up the hill to take a ride to the desert settlement. At which point I saw that my vehicle was not parked on the rail, but was upside down and off to the side of the rail. What happened? I don't know. I assume it was something not translating exactly through the update, as I'd not had that problem when logging off and back on before. Hopefully, yours didn't suffer the same. Now to figure out if I want to go through the build process again or just give up on vehicles and just use the rail as a skywalk from now on.
Thank you for your detailed repsonse! This gives me such a better insight into problems that my builds have for users who have tried them out. I too eventually encountered the issue where the trian car loaded in improperly and it was on the ground below the track. I did just post a new design build on my channel that does not use wheels and have had a much better experince.
In survival if your train car hits anthing it will break. Youre better off just extending the track extra long at the ens so it just comes to a rolling or controlled stop and doesn't have to hit anything. Sure you have to make your landing platforms extra long but thats the trade off if it want it to work without breaking
I made a follow up video to this one where I made just small wheels come in contact with the track and it has alleviated a lot of issues with friction/stress. It still does get hung up from time to time but I just cut the thrusters off and let it coast until it starts acting normal again. And if things look really bad I’ll save the game and exit and reload and it seems to reload all the blocks in their original positions
You know, you don't really need that dynamic foundation. Any structure connected to a floor piece where that floor piece is the only piece connected to a pillar, stair or other ground connection hub and you destroy that ground connecting piece becomes a dynamic entity affected by the physics of the game. I made a short recently showing it with a house, where I built the house on top of the pillar with balloons just as an example, and the moment I destroy the pillar, the house flies (I also tested with thrusters with a car, but it isn't perfect yet and they work exactly as with a dynamic foundation, even without it), but by removing the dynamic foundation from your build, not only does that make your build a lot cheaper in materials, since you won't need cactus wood, it also makes it a lot lighter, which reduces the stress and makes it move faster.
@@trentpow4It definitely takes some trial and error to find out how close you can make the pieces without the game considering them as connecting. As far as I've tested, as long as no other piece is within a 1 unit of space even diagonally from any piece of the main body besides the sacrificial pillar, when you destroy the pillar (or connection other connection piece), they become a new dynamic entity. As long as you have 2 pieces in contact with one another (after the connection is destroyed) they will persist as dynamic. You can test this easily for yourself: 1- Build a pillar and place 1 single piece of the smallest and thinnest floor on top. When you destroy that pillar, that piece of floor will self destruct. 2- Build a pillar and place 2 pieces of floor in contact with one another (or more) on top. When you destroy the pillar, they will persist and become a dynamic entity.
That is also why if you build a big staircase in a cave not connecting to anything and then destroy the first stairs connecting to the ground to try and get your wood back to explore the cave more, the whole thing falls as a dynamic entity affected by physics.
This design did not do well with the large thrusters. I did just upload a new video of my latest train car design that does utilize the large thrusters though.

There is a limited amount of length im over 1200+ long and it wont let me build longer fpr some reason i have a support and still cant it takes my wood but wont place
There is a horizontal build limit. You can work around this by building a new section of track that is spaced just one stud away from the one where you are encountering a build limit. I touched on this topic in my latest vidoe on my channel but I plan to make a full in depth video on how to accomplish this in survival as it can be tricky to get them perfeectly aligned.
There is a horizontal build limit that is about the width of the map screen when completely zoomed out! I had the same issue. I had to build a set of stairs from the ground at the end and start a second track with a second train car and build a little path to connect the two with a little gap between blocks.
