IMO :We can clearly see that the rope tied in thar is in side which is not making the thar stable.
And coming to ghurka it's rope is tied in middle which make it perfectly stable..force is divided in equal amount.

The reason why Thar moved a little bit is that it has the towing hook on the side while the Gurkha has a hook on the center.

its all about tyre grip only. gurkha has high profile tyre giving stronger grip, thar me AT tyre lagale and dekhle the power of 130bhp.
@@tapas1505 if it's only about "TYRE GRIP" and not torque and bhp and not about low transfer case where peak torque comes in at a rpm lower than the thar...then put AT tyres or what ever tyres on the thar and let it pull any van like a force urbania traveller (new one with 115bhp as opposed to thars 130) urbania will pull it even in 4 by 2...or let the thar pull a safari varicor 400 with 4 by 4 and see which pulls who.
And if this is tried with the Army spec varicor 400 safari...it won't pull the thar...it will " DRAG" the thar.
Rest is for you to believe if only tyres make the difference. It's also weight of the vehicle, engine output and torque and the rpm at what it is delivered. Not just tyres.
At this rate a gypsy with the best tyres should be able to pull the thar with these tyres...but the gypsy will fail (1 due to being lighter, 2 torque lower and bhp way lower ) .
Here the weight of the gurkha and the fact the power was delivered at a lower rpm(which is important for offroading) as opposed to the thar helped it to pull the thar.if the tyres of the gurkha was better...then, the power and torque of the thar was better here as against the bs6 gurkha... so what's the use of the power when it can never be delivered.
Try the same with a bs4 gurkha and thar with same set of tyres and still see who pulls who....it's not ONLY about tyres...it's about power delivered at a more efficient rpm and a better transfer case too. Gurkha has independent locking differentials also...and if that is engaged...thar can only dream of pulling it. Rest up to you. Believe what you please.its a open market after all.

Cute chaps! Everyone’s so innocent like kids. But this doesn’t prove anything. Only law of towing is- a heavier vehicle is going to dominate towing. Simple. Add same weight to thar and results would change or at least become equal.
At 4Low both have similar crawl ratios. So only difference is the 400 kgs extra with Gurkha.

The main reason gurkha is dominating in this tug of war is the low ratio gear box of gurkha and Gurkha gets the max torque just from 1400 rpm itself where mahindra thar deliver maxx torque slightly late at 1600 rpm!!! And the turbo of gurkha kicks from just 1000 rpm itself........its not the matter of torque number its how the torque is manage perfectly with a low ratio gear box!!!! Low ratio gear box makes a vehicle more torqy at initial and gurkha has a rpm meter of just 5000 rpm Which makes the car even more torqy from initial even after having less torque figures than mahindra thar !!!! Only a technical guy will get my points

@@deveshsharma_mountainshrink an e.g. will clear your doubts, some years ago, there was a tata xenon 2.2 vtt dicor lifestyle pick up truck, it puts out 320nm oc torque at around 1700rpm, it is fast on the road, but having seen it struggle with loads on the back bed is unbelievable, it's payload capacity is just around 700kg while there was another xenon with 3.0 dicor, it puts out a torque of just 250nm at just 1000rpm, it has zero turbo lag, heck, it pulls without even touching the accelerator with the same load, it can haul 1500kg easily after added leaf springs. That's the difference between a car engine and a truck engine.
True and I have commented as well.....thars towing hook is on left side...which drags thar asymmetrically and traction on wheels also gets delivered asymmetrically.

I think Forcr Gurkha is heavier than thar... It has an advantage for tug of war... However, if there is a slope road with muddy /slippery... Thar may be better.. As I saw during the show in the clip.. All the wheels of that were rotated while the other one was not done...
