I wish I had played the arcade version as a kid. Only had the game on SNES, so I never understood anything. When picking up that invincibility power-up, I thought they yelled "Ghost power!". And when the life bar hit zero and my Turtle sat there with stars flying around his head, I heard him say "Ahh, Erica" every single time. Still prefer the SNES stage announcer though. His dramatic "Where no Turtle has gone before" made you know you were in deep. Here it sounds like a child is reading to you.
weird thing, "Big apple, 3AM" doesn't actually play on the first playthrough of them game. This is because the stage loads up, before Leonardo finishes saying "Bring that statue back you bloated bean bag". Because the stage loads up while Leonardo is still speaking, the line "Big apple, 3AM" cannot play, even if the cutscene is skipped. Although, this line can still be heard only after finishing the entire game, and using leftover quaters to restart the game at level 1, and since the cutscene doesnt play upon replaying the game again, the line will finally play.
I wish the designers had used the voices of Cam Clarke as Leonardo and Rocksteady, Barry Gordon as Donatello and Bebop, Rob Paulsen as Raphael, Townsend Coleman as Michelangelo and the Rat King, James Avery as Shredder, Pat Fraley as Krang, Baxter Stockman, Granitor and Slash, Jim Cummings as Leatherhead, Peter Renaday as Splinter and General Trag and Renae Jacobs as April O'Neil who were the voices of them for the 1987 animated TV series to be the voices of them also for the 1989 and 1991 arcade games too. When the people of Konami had made The Simpsons arcade game in 1991 the same year the Turtles In Time game was made, they had used the same voices of Dan Castellaneta as Homer, Julie Kavner as Marge, Nancy Cartwright as Bart and Yeardly Smith as Lisa to be the voices of them also for the arcade game too, so why couldn't the designers also do the same by using the voice actors who voiced as the characters of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1987 animated series for the 1989 and 1991 arcade games too? That is what I would've done if I were in the designers' shoes to design the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1989 and 1991 arcade games!
