Thanks for the video. Still waiting on the dx to ship from Secret Compass. On the nails and teeth, the teeth were chromed yes. But the fingernails and toes were actually clear acrylic nails. Like press on nails from the 70s. Giger bought them and stuck them on. They weren't chromed.
Secret Compass seems to be VERY behind on receiving and shipping P1 statues out. People are still waiting on them to ship pieces I got over 6 months ago. And I think you're right. Good catch. I think I remember hearing that and totally forgot.

No company is perfect snd I understand there are always QC issues, but for the price and this being a very small industry i expect top customer service. XM does great packaging and at least with me they have been very responsive when dealing with problems, even living very south of South America. Congrats on the piece...looks great! Statue companies need to focus better on packing as we are spending alot on these pieces!!! For a factory paint it's pretty good!
I read a comment that Prime 1 had attempted to muscle so many factories, that all the best ones would not deal with them anymore. I do think they are overrated\coasting on past reputation. If you had to chose between the Prime1 and Mamegyorai, which would it be?
I have heard the same thing, and it's showing. They have fallen off and it shows. While I do still love this Big Chap, the Mamegyorai is sculpting perfection. Every single detail of the suit has been reproduced. They spend tons of time researching the suit for accuracy. Where they missed the mark is on the dome, and partly on paint (although it's not as bad as some made it out to be).
Was thinking for months about ordering the DX version of the re-releaase, but read so many negative reviews about Prime 1 Studios, that I decided not to and rather get like 10 small figures or statues for that amount of money😁 I kinda forgot you had reviews for the P1 figures too, would have helped to abondon the idea of getting it a lot quicker😅 Still like alwayys amazing work, great review and I think it helped a lot of people to make a decision about getting one. 💚💚💚
Unfortunate man, you would think with 2 huge boxes it would be better protected. I received mine a few months back and it arrived without any issues, to me it's the best big chap by far as I don't like the "guy in the suit" (Mamegyorai) statue concept I much prefer the "actual alien creature" concept and I think this represents that well. I will probably repaint the teeth/nails and give it some more gloss also weather the base and wall with some verdigris and oxidation effects. I was think about sculpting some parts to join the tendons but tbh in room with normal lighting they are hard to notice even up close as its mostly black on black. This will be a very sought after statue in the future with the whole ES being only 350. Hope you get it sorted out.

I would guess that they chose to shortcut the back tubes and attach and putty them as opposed to fitting them and putting magnets in. P1 seems to be taking on more licenses than they can handle, while covid and shipping costs are compounding that. Aggravating that you can't just unbox it, put it on the shelf and be done with it as it should be.
I agree. And for me while in general that's they way the hobby is right now, P1 is the biggest offender. This hobby is really losing my interest. The prices have skyrocketed over the past few years, and shipping prices are compounding that increase. On the other side of that, the quality has dropped. And this isn't just for P1, but for mass produced statues in general. Custom pieces are really the only thing keeping me for jumping out of the hobby altogether.
awesome statue but those seams looks horrible and the damages....,for the money the selling it,should be perfect ! are they exchange it or gave u discount ? looks like an upscaled kotobukiya alien,which i think the best alien statue out there. congrats!
Sad to see another with issues, doesn’t matter who makes aliens, they are super fragile and are prone to QC every release unfortunately, shame the body is just so fragile being partially hollow, same with the base and wall. The body at least should have been made solid to support the top heavy nature of it. Also the metal rod in one leg only goes to the hip. I’ve had to destroy both the whole museum one and DX ones head for a replacement. Museum was 100 edition and this is 250 with another 100 regulars.
Remember,In the movie the monster fully developed in the steam room where it was very humid ,that's why l believe they painted rust marks on some of the parts,but if you don't like it you can always repaint it.
Are you in the us? Did you buy direct from prime 1 or sideshow? If from prime 1, do you get charged tax? I’m debating if I should buy from bbts, or prime 1. I know bbts is a bit higher in general and they’ve built in shipping to us already
That's a real shame about the breakages on yours, as I'm waiting for mine... Definitely sweating it a lot more now. I wish I knew what paints & filler to use on the back tubes, because it bugs me too. Yeah, they make some boneheaded decisions on things that seem obvious...
I hope yours arrives safe. I have had other collectors reach out to me on IG and show me more damages to their Big Chaps. Pretty shocking at this low ES. And there are NO spares from P1, so we will have to repair them ourselves.

Prime One should provide you with a new torso. These pieces are way too expensive to be experiencing this lack of QC.
They stated there is ZERO replacement parts, so customers are going to have to repair the damages on their own. Pretty crazy.

It is basically a Koto copy. i have the Koto and your 💯 correct. There are ZERO replacements for this. Customers are expected to repair it themselves.

It's not the fact that the rust spots are there, it's the fact that they are so poorly done and look so out of place from the rest of the paint app.

I bought two Alien Big Chaps, DX and Alien Museum and didn't have any orange spots on the wall front or back
That's weird. I guess you got lucky. The ones I have seen from other collectors have those spots as well. it's an easy fix though.
