I met him again at two Memphis Film Festivals in 2011 and 2012, at his 80th birthday in Toledo and 10 days later at Doug McClure's induction into the Hall of Great Western Performers in Oklahoma City in 2014.

The two scenes when The Virginian was pulling Trampas up off the ground; two different times but perfect flow from one to the other. I’ll be 64 in about 3 weeks and that would have made my birthday! I usually watch at least one episode of The Virginian every night. My favorite one: Felisa’s Spring. That episode showed the vulnerability of the character. When he yells out Trampas' name & the look on his face..gets me every time. Trampas is my favorite,both of them complement each other so well

He broke some of my bones and there were more than a handful of times our arguments ended up in an all out brawl. My grandfather some how kept us together though and now as life has changed so much for the both of us, when I look around I see all my other friends never stuck with me like he did. I am as confident that the sun will come up tomorrow as I am we will always be best friends. We still think about everything differently but we some how use that to our advantage. There is nothing we cant do together.

And I got the clips off of TH-cam from other videos of him. The reason I don’t do any videos of him is because I don’t really have any access to remastered DVDs of Laramie. (The seasons I have are blurry and such). I would love to make them because I love Slim and Jess but I don’t think I would do them justice with the quality of the film.
