I watch them everyday throughout the day. I cry a lot watching them. Two beautiful men..Doug has been gone for 25 yrs. way too young to die. How sad life has to end. May they both Rest In Peace and be friends in heaven🙏💕🙏

As much as I love "The Virginian" the best shows were when these two were together. I think the show would have lasted longer if the two of them were in each episode - even if that meant going to a 60 minute format instead of the 90.

There is a priceless, unscripted moment in Season One, The Impasse. At minute marker 19, as you look to the upper right of the screen, you see Trampas, on Buck, barreling down the hill at full speed. The Virginian is at the bottom of the hill. You realize that Trampas has lost control of Buck, and he runs into the rear of Joe D. The look on his face when they hit, and Drury’s exclamation, are priceless!! And they didn’t cut it out. You will also note, he tries to knock Drury out of the way. And then Trampas covers the hit with the exclamation, “ They must smell that water”! One of my favorite bloopers....But, a bit frightening!! 😳😬
Like a time portal has unfolded to events of the late 1800s. Filmed beautifully with music in the 1960s. Rediscovered by me in the 2020s. All timeless stories of the values and principals how humans treat one another with respect and friendship. The Virginian is truly a work of art.
Wow the 2 are truly handsome, pleasant to the eyes, I watch every episode except the ones that The Virginia, was in love. I get very jealous, I skip those episodes, they were very beautiful, I couldn't stand watching him kiss them. He passed away in April of 2020, I am going to try watching him now.
There's a movie called The Virginian released in 2014. Wasn't as good as the series as it portrayed Trampas as a reckless drunkard and Judge Garth as a greedy rancher bent on monopolizing cattle ranching in Medicine Bow. Trace Atkins portrayed The Virginian well enough though. Acting was good, just wasn't true to character of the series.
