@caitlinjanet_ every area is allowed a number of staff housing but of cause not everyone who works for the resort gets staff housing. Maybe because its on the actual mountain.
I must ask, how do you get on the job board for vail ??? I'm wanting to go this winter season, when's a good time to start looking ? Also how do you go about applying for jobs that aren't with vail? loving all your videos btw!!!!!
Hi!! We realise the job openings around July I believe! You’ll know when it happens, there will be a lot of job postings for winter seasonal work. Make sure you’re always looking! For other jobs I would recommend emailing the businesses directly and sending your resume like that :) make sure you mention staff housing if you’re looking for housing! Good luck!
Can I ask what your job is? Is your pay just your wage or does it include tips? And what is staff accom like - do you have roommates or your own room, etc? I’m wanting to do a working holiday in Canada so trying to get as much info as possible hehe thank you
Hey! Ofcourse.. I’m very lucky to be a head chef for the mountain, so I am on salary and also get tips! That’s why I highly recommend working in F&B as there is definitely opportunity for earning more than minimum wage! We are very very lucky to receive tips from our guests :) Generally most of staff housing you’ll have one roommate and live in a unit with 4 people total. Definitely keep watching my popular videos it’ll give you a lot of info on moving to Whistler/a ski town! Especially my “pros and cons” of working for the mountain video, it gives a lot of info on job roles and housing :)
At Big White its $230 AUD per person, per week. That's sharing with another person in the bedroom.
Wow thats quite expensive for staff housing! Is that just because it’s so limited or?
