RC Chuck Glider Conversion - Full Build less than $30

  • I built a chuck glider into an RC for less than $30. I used a small drone for controller, battery, motors. The foam plane I used was a bit too heavy I should have tried to find a lighter one to make it work better so I wouldn't have to shave a lot of weight off. A fun experiment, ultimately didn't go as far as I would've liked!

    There's a gyro in the board that is suppose to keep drones upright. This gyro is the reason why it really can't turn. It's not because it's too heavy. I bet if you'd add some dihedral to the wing and used a proper airplane board without gyro it would definitely fly! I've tried the same thing a few months back and that's at least my conclusion.

      Not exactly, Ive seen vids where people did similar things and used the gyro to their advantage, When you turn its sppeds up 1 motor and slows down the other, using differential thrust, same thing with how quads turn, except the control might be inverted depending on how you mount the motors. Dihedral might help it become more stable though.

      Mine also has a gyro and only the 2 motors are spinning, the 2 extreme motors already not spinning when it is climbing, they spin when it is about to crash that’s an issue I am facing

    I built and still improving. One thing I found using drone parts is the gyro. If tilts too far, it goes into failure and crashes .

    Nice trick. Only $ 30 can rc plane. But much trim and setting to be good fly. Thank you to share this knowledge

    you might want to move propellers and find center of gravity and put battery in center of gravity

    How come you just stopped it right when the plane was flying successfully

    On my think, to fly rc plane from quad, you need to pointed the drone board to the left/right, dont pointed to the front and use only left stick to control. And use both left/right motor as the engine to fly this think.

    If you really wanted to shed weight off the airframe, why didnt you just get rid of the styrofoam ducts? the prop is already ducted. Good vid nonetheless.

    In indian rupess 30 dollar 💰 is about 2100 so these plane is too expensive

    • @ComradeCody3349
      @ComradeCody3349 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really. Taking in account the fact that if you go to BUY an RTF RC plane, it would cost you anywhere from 20k to 50k just for the beginner friendly models. I've seen a 4 channel F4U Corsair listed for 41k. 3 channel RTF prices start from 20k and onwards. And buying a 2 channel isnt really worth it while getting an RC plane. If you choose to BUILD your own, it's much cheaper, taking in account you could actually build a big one (900mm wingspan or more) and it would cost anywhere from 10k to 18k depending on what electronics or stuff you use. Ofcourse it could get more expensive if you wanna build even bigger ones (2000mm wingspan and more) with more power, more channels etc, but to make a beginner model, it would cost you 6k-10k using the cheapest parts. So... 2100 is STILL cheaper than all that lol-

    Wtf kind of conclusion to a video was that?!! Lol. You show you failed then what? You just end it? Weird bro.. I guess you just couldn't figure it out.. didn't even really show much about how you tried to make it like how you wired the motors or anything except how bad this came out.
