OK so the two studios are nothing to sniff about and were brilliant. But I've just added the sub and wow what an experience!
I'm using the 4k stick and after alot of head scratching I've finally got the stick sub and the studios as a group on my TV. I agree the sub makes it very heavy and almost drowns out the speech to make it clear.
I'd like to add though that once the sub is in the set it doesn't matter which one of the speakers you go into, it will apply them settings to all three not just the one you clicked on. I turned down the bass and upped the tremble on a studio and it applied it across the board which is handy. I'd recommend this setup, its pricey but it will last years and will out perform any speaker bar with a sub. Be great to add dots as rear speakers, I'm sure amazon have tested it and its possible but are just being sods.

    • @magicalfrijoles6766
      @magicalfrijoles6766 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm considering just the two Studios, because I'm concerned the Echo Sub will create too much bass. My living room isn't very big. I also only watch shows and movies that are dialogue intensive, so no sports or Jurassic Park/Star Wars type movies. Do you think I'm still need the Sub?

I got this very system and looking around TH-cam channels on this topic, I found out that when you connect your firestick tv or cube to your television’s HDMI ARC or e-ARC you can then hear sounds from cable satellite boxes, Apple TV and hand consoles that are hooked up to the other HDMI ports in your TV.

like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....

I set up two Echo Studio's from my Apple Mac Mini, First I connected Analogue to digital convertor with 3.5 aux input and a optical output to my Mac ( you can run a cable from the headphone socket on the Mac but I used a USB dac because the sound is better ) I then ran a Toslink cable from the convertor to an optical splitter box with two optical outputs then run the two special Toslink cables to the Echo Studios, This way I dont have to rely on using a firestick in the living room as We only use the Mac as a media centre, The whole thing works really well and sounds absolutley awesome, On the subject of Subwoofers at one stage I did buy an Echo Sub but it was a living Nightmare so I sent it back to Amazon, I think the Echo Sub looks awesome but is totally useless, Ive managed to install a 3.5 Aux on one of the studios and I connect a Hama Subwoofer via an Aux cable, Ive Beat Amazon at thier stupid games and dont have to rely on thier other products or Bluetooth and also both speakers work with anything, Theres no background noise or hiss, It all sounds complex but I found it easy, I worked it out myself and why did I bother when I couldve just bought a different system and use an Echo Input you may ask 'TO BEAT AMAZON thats why' , Anyways awesome videos thanks for sharing Bud.

Actually instead of adjusting the bass ratio between the Sub and the Studios through an equalizer there should be a cross-over control so the user can control at which low frequency the Studio cuts off its bass and when the Sub kicks in.
As far as i know the Sub's "adaptive" cross-over range goes from 50 to 200 Hertz.
A Sub that kicks in at 200 Htz kicks in at a waaay to high frequency. Even 100 Htz is much to early.
I don't know what the "adaptive" does but to me it sounds as if it might continuously change the cross-over frequency.
    Which would be not good.
One should be able to set the cross-over frequency manually to a fixed value.

For $650 its a way overpriced item, it sounds good just like bose sounds good but if you see what $650 can buy in real speakers you'd say wow the non amazon speakers sound 10x better and get 3x louder without distortion. BTW my theater speakers cost about $5000 plus another $3500 on subwoofers not to mention sound processors, but Ive been through all budget levels over time. but having two 24inch sealed subwofers and the 3 front speaker having a 15 inch woofer, 6.5 inch midrange and a 1 inch tweeter, lets you know how things would sound if you were there in real life. explosions on high volume start to physically cause pain. The worst thing about the amazon speakers is they tune them for a select few types of music so anything else including tv and movies sounds very muddy or not in tune.

Agreed they should offer up to 5 separate channels especially for the centre channel as you can clearly tell it’s missing something I still cannot work out why they omitted the sound bar compatibility in combination with a home room setup thus allowing a wider l/r setup for a more family oriented e.g. as in heard but not seen. Maybe it’s a Bluetooth 5 limitation which is a shame

Your video was helpful and I purchased the Fire TV Cube and Two Echo Studios. This setup works well on Video and is a solid alternative to the typical soundbar rig. However I discovered something that was a bit of a letdown when using Amazons HD Music streaming. While the Echo Studio has 24 bit audio support the Fire Cube does not. So when you set up the combo together you are limited to the 16 bit capabilities of the Fire Cube. Have not found a work around for this yet so was curious if you or some of the subscribers to the channel had some insight on the issue

I have this complete setup but rarely use it because I have two other stereo systems. I use it when I remember that I have it or I'm just bored and want something to play with. It sounds decent for what it is but the bass module is totally lacking in bass. This would make an excellent starter system or a stereo system for children. I didn't like the spacial audio in the beginning but now I leave it on all the time.

Got our second Studio today, we already had the Sub and 4K Firestick, connecting was a breeze, what a sound, even You tube sounds great.
    EDIT
Had a massive problem with the second studio. It kept dropping connection and unpairing with the first studio and sub, also the light ring on the second was much brighter than the first. After much resetting we contacted Amazon and they were fantastic, after a factory reset they decided that there was a prob and a replacement was sent out the next day. Touch wood they are working in harmony now

They also call what some phone speakers do "ATMOS". They're right to, because part of ATMOS is that it's the same "container" no matter the playback setup. So this wifi based, 2.1 that uses an abundance of dsp and sound bouncing is... well, that.
I'll stick to my 5.2.4 setup tho.... which obviously doesn't fit everyone's needs/style/priorities. Just irritating that yes this is "technically" ATMOS. But it is night and day against even a solid 5.1
