    Hey thanks for this series. I'm a novice DJ (home and mix cloud). I've acquired a few dmx lights that also have remotes. Controlling all of those lights with remotes plus the 30+ lifx bulbs in my home on an app is too much to do for my small brain. Been looking for a way to combine control of lifx and dmx. Your videos are helping me get there. Instead of a Pi, I'll probably run everything on my lappy. Thank you again for the video!

    1:24 Also it is advisable to get a "Class 10" card. Lower-class cards (lower number) are slower and also more apt to become corrupt. If you are having basic operability issues, consider ensuring your card is Class 10. This can be hard to find on product packaging.

    Hi... really enjoying all your videos! I’m learning so much.
    Has this ArtNet setup been superseded by your wireless DMX (eg Donner) use? Or does it complement it in some way?

    Thanks for the video, built my own node per your suggestions. The USB to DMX controller I am using was part of a package from GarageCube. They don’t seem to register on the output when adding a universe although my Enttec does. Wonder if there is a conflict. How do I determine the output type? No serial or any other info on the DMX box

    Your Universe numbers are different in the OLA software from that of the source server is that because the OLA software doesn't support Universe ID 0?

    It would be super helpful for beginners like myself, if you post links for the software and parts going are using
    Could you? Thanks

      Sure, I will try and edit the description to include that.

    Is there an advantage to this over getting a DMXKing eDMX4 PRO DIN? It seems like I can pay $130 for the board, and $10 in parts to get the same thing with less fuss.

    What about receiving the same universe at several nodes? Would I just set my Inputs accordingly in the OLA software?

    • @mikey38632
      @mikey38632 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I remember in your rig you have a DMX distro amp but I am talking about receiving the same universe at different locations in the room with multiple Raspberry Pis. Thinking of looking into the Pi Zero (the tiny one) for a couple of nodes.

    • @Code_mov
      @Code_mov  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, so standard art-net is multicast, so any node that’s receiving (on the same network) universe 0, or 1, would output that dmx.

    I asked this in the other video, but why the Raspberry Pi like some has said it can become corrupt if you lose power during the shutdown. Did you make this video before ENTTEC came out with the ODE unit which already converts to the Artnet in the box and says it will work with QLC+.

    • @Code_mov
      @Code_mov  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I have never actually shut my pi down, I always pull power, it’s been fine now for years doing it that way. And yeah. I made this before they came out with that artnet ODE box.

    • @easterlingderek34
      @easterlingderek34 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Code ok the reason i was asking i curious if it needed something else done in the chain that your pi was doing that the ode doesn’t do. You know where i know if i needed to use a pi over a ode. Because i won’t be the person using it most of the time. And just didn’t want a computer in between it for someone to end up messing it up after i done set it up.

    Hey bro..is this can connect to sunlite suit software ?

    I think I missed something. Was the only purpose of the router to create an ethernet network? I thought that you were going to tell how to use the router’s wifi signal to eliminate the need for long runs of dmx cable.

      I’m not completely sure of the supported interface boxes at the moment. I will try and find a list somewhere. It might be in the OLA documentation

    Hi Sir, may I ask some "silly" question on the video.
    In moment 16:10, why the number of channels shown only 24 while the detail below shows R1/G1/B1?
    In moment 17:39, why the maximum activated channel boxes are from 1-24 instead of 1-72? (since the light bar is 24 LED RGB lighting fixture, the total controlled channels used to be 24 x 3 = 72)
