My stepdad has this awesome vintage bank that he puts out every Halloween. It's shaped like a coffin. You put a coin on the foot end of the coffin and press it down on the button and a skeleton hand and arm comes out and grabs the coin and pulls it in. My kid loves playing with it.
My fave such toy in my actual childhood was my well loved and much used Super Men and Monster Maker! (If ya don’t know it provided well-matched panels of head, torso and legs to provide a ton of variety. Put the panels together, put a piece of paper over, and rub the included crayon over the raised relief of the detail. Then, remove and color your original creation) Nigh endless fun. As to those included, had a buddy that had a Greg Gory. Loved it! I had Lionheart from the Super Naturals line…as I loved fantasy….but, as cool as it was, I was never compelled to continue buying the others, which limits your play value as other toys are of other scales/sizes. It was just after the a** end of my childhood (1987) when Mad Balls were released, but I couldn’t stop myself from getting Oculus Orbus. Just too fun to have a giant eyeball. Haha! Cheers, everyone!
I'm so happy you mentioned Gre-Gory. He was the only toy I wanted that Christmas, and I loved him so much! At 52 I still have him! He happily roosts in my nerd lair!
I had to watch when I saw Gre-Gory in the thumbnail. I got one as a Christmas present as a kid, even though I had never heard of it. I guess Santa picked it up on the clearance rack. But I loved it! I also had an Aracula action figure that I bought for myself in my 20’s. I thought the Skeleton Warriors cartoon wasn’t that great, but I loved that particular action figure because it looked awesome!

According to people at Playmates, Skeleton Warriors was mainly produced and marketed towards us Hispanic folks. I'd imagine because of celebrations like Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos) and an acceptance of darker topics within our communities. I bought them when they came out and was disappointed that the line was cancelled.
I had a rubber bat on an elastic string and a couple of plastic skeletons. I played in my Halloween costume throughout the year until it wore out I still have a number of spooky sounds and haunted house records lps and 45s. I had Halloween story books, and coloring books too. My Dad complained that I was obsessed with death! LOL. I want that Monster Machine! I remember seeing that in a toy store in Longview TX and asking for it, only to be rebuffed...sad! This was another fun vid! Thanks 👍

i've watched this channel for awhile and it's always exciting to see a new video. I've tried watching other "retro" channels but it's just information thrown at you. These videos always stand out because of the obvious love and passion that goes into them. Feels less like watching a youtube video and more like talking to old friends about this things that make our childhood so much fun.

Ooze-it was my absolute favorite toy that I ever had as a kid! My mom tried so hard to talk me out of it, probably because of the bright red slime. She did only let me play with it in the kitchen. Lol. I looked into buying one now but I can't afford that!
Those Supernaturals holographic toys were pretty cool and the holographic-graphics were AMAZING they were beyond vivid and hypnotic 😮 Oh Snap! And those Skeleton Warriors were super rad those figures were detailed and gnarly

I made a mantle display of my aurora monster models from the 1960s. Originally I didn't glue the bats, rats, and masks so I could move them about, but now they are glued down so I do not lose any.
@@RetroDaze I think I used to stick Electrical tape around the edges of the molds. The frame in the Rotocaster couldn't hold the two halves tight enough together to form a good seal.
Super Naturals were awesome! As I have said before, I am a sucker for glow in the dark toys so these were very cool with their glow weapons. And Holograms on top of that! What's not to love?! I still have one in the collection. I also came across 3 carded examples last week at a toy show. I resisted, but just...

I love soo much the Skeketon Warriors!! I still have my entire collection including the vehicles. Supernaturals tough was soo rare even back then despite being some of the coolest looking toys.
I knew the guy who invented the Ooze-It. I designed the prototype packaging for his follow-up toy, the Icky-Sticky, which was a rubber decayed disembodied hand that would stick to surfaces when thrown. The Icky-Sticky was never released due to legal issues with the inventor. This was back in the mid ‘80s, and I can’t remember his name for the life of me. I recall that he owned a monkey that he kept in a cage in his living room which I found to be inappropriately cruel, but that was the least of his personal issues.
When I was very little, probably back around 1993 or 1994. My parents for my birthday got me almost an entire collection of supernatural figures. At the time. Apparently the KB toys was phasing them out and they were all on sale like 50% off. I wonder if my mom still has them down in the basement? I know I wasn't the most gentle child with them

The Flippy Super Sub and the Flippy Frogman diving toys by Placo. I remember seeing them on the shelves in the mid 80's, but I am thinking they originated in the 70's as there are packaging variants I never saw in person. The submarine was modelled after the Polaris Nuclear Submarine and was available in yellow, unless you got the two pack which had a blue variant. They ran off two power pellets, which some kids would eat saying they tasted like candy, upsetting the toy's owners...

Those toys look amazing I love monsters and in fact girls like me love monsters heck I love Lovecraftian horrors because they're is character from a cartoon that's from Mexico and the character is a Lovecraftian horror but not any Lovecraftian horror he is based on Nyarlathotep and its quite interesting he inspired me to make my own eldritch horror hybrid well they're a mix between a eldritch horror and a jorogumo her name is Mrs Nayarl Hats and she's a beautiful monster I created

Makes sense. Too easy for those tiny parts to fall off and get lost.
The problem with the Monster Machine was that the plaster "Muck" went flying everywhere when spinning. Still have mine.
So the mold did not seal properly. Was there any kind of seal around the mold edge? Like rubber?
I remember making mine with rubber bands. I don't know if the machine part broke or if it was less drippy my way.

Okay I hope you read your comments because I am so tired of this...GIRLS LIKE HORROR AND HALLOWEEN TOO!!! It's not just boys. Please rethink how you phrase things and how you see people. Me and my girlfriends were always renting horror films as kids. I still love horror. It's practically all I watch. I currently have 2 My Pet Monsters because I didn't get one as a kid. I always wanted and loved creepy scary things. My home is filled with horror figures and posters right now.

Just because someone is listing a rare toy for hundreds of dollars on eBay doesn’t mean that it’s the actual value. The fact that so many of them remain unsold indicates that’s not a reasonable price.
This is true. The real value is only what someone is willing to pay for an item. That will depend on their level of interest naturally.
Those toys look amazing I love monsters and in fact girls like me love monsters heck I love Lovecraftian horrors because they're is character from a cartoon that's from Mexico and the character is a Lovecraftian horror but not any Lovecraftian horror he is based on Nyarlathotep and its quite interesting he inspired me to make my own eldritch horror hybrid well they're a mix between a eldritch horror and a jorogumo her name is Mrs Nayarl Hats and she's a beautiful monster I created

@@RetroDaze yeah not to mention she is from a dimension called the dark dimension it stays night all the time and it has different bioms in that dimension and I also created eldritch horror hybrids based on other legends and cryptids and I based them on animals let's say like a eldritch horror lamia hybrid well the lamia part would be based on a western diamond back rattle snake well they would look the part of it
