    I have had limited success with ITTT but this new functionality is just amazing. Thanks for the inspiring video.

    I've watched several of your videos, Steve, and I really like the very natural way you present. No egos or irritating habits; and everything said with sincerity, not too fast or high-pitched etc. Content is good and well presented also - not to mention the visual and audio quality!
    I saw you commenting . on the use of your Logitec webcam recently also, and wondered how much better it is to the iMac's built-in camera?
    I have already subscribed (some time back), but just wanted to say how awesome this IFTTT software is and multitude of ways one can use and implement it. As you say, when other people share what they are doing, you indeed do get ideas and new ways of working yourself.
    So a big thank-you from happy subscriber! Keep up the good work, Steve...........and congratulations on your recent marriage too (see, I wasn't joking when I said I watch your videos ;-). Long may it continue! :-)

      I fully agree, Steve is really prepared and professional, and its voice is clear and understandable, this may be overseen by english language speakers but, for people from abroad, it's important to listen to a video with a perfect diction. Thanks !

    Thank’s Steve. What a super new set of features. I have used IFTTT for quite a while in conjunction with my Google Home Automation, but sometimes I like to automate things with just the Phone or IPad. I will definitely be making use of these new features.

    You should create an updated video regarding the "button trigger" in IFTTT. The video is out of date (no camera or note button trigger anymore) regarding the current state of IFTTT.

    Steve, I have an issue with the Camera Roll you might be able to create a video about. I find that my Photos have been sucked into the Google Photos and are no longer in the Camera Roll. This is both scary and frustrating, but I can always eventually find the photos. Do you have any ideas for Organizing Photos better to make Finding the Photos easier? IFTTT should probably be applicable.

    IFTTT is beyond awesome. i made it my automation hub ever since i found it. and these new "Do" buttons are great! the only downside is that there's quite a bunch of phone-related actions i would like to put to use, but IFTTT doesn't seem to support phone numbers outside North America yet :(

    I was hoping your video was going to show me how to create a "Do" recipe from scratch, but alas, you stopped short. I can see how to create "IFTTT" recipes and I see how to add pre-published "Do" recipes but I can't seem to figure out how to create a whole new "Do" recipe. A little help?

  • @JohnOverstreet

    I've been using IFTTT for a while, but I have found several times where it would be great if they supported If|Then|Else or CASE statements. But then it would actually be programming..

    • @dottotech
      @dottotech  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      John Overstreet LOL the average person takes a while to get their head around the simple form! But a "Pro" version may be an idea!

    I am seeking a Custom Recipe to be made. I cant figure out how to make one and I cant figure out how to find Developers that make them. No clue where to turn, so...I am trying here! I am seeking something that looks at my local weather, a day in advance, selects the best weather for outdoor exercise (parameters I could set), and creates a 60-90 minute Appointment in my OUTLOOK

    IFTT is driving me crazy! I am trying to set up a recipe so that when a reminder comes due on a note in Evernote, I get a notivication on my iPhone 6s - or even a text message. Darned if I can figure it out! Could you possibly spend some time showing how create recipes? Everyone seems to just mow right over it. Thanks.

  • @ActuMoto
    @ActuMoto 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thanks Steve for that video. I dont see the point, why would you use the do app to add an Evernote note instead of using Evernote app directly, it is easy too to add a note, just one click

    • @dottotech
      @dottotech  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ActuMoto If evernote is not open it may take a few less steps, but I have not timed it out, I do like the note taking format (bigger text). It is not a "game changer" just for Evernote Notes, you are correct there!

    • @chaxta

    The demand and need for content that explains how much IFTTT can helpout and reduce risk during this unfortunate virus time period.
    Example when anyone enters our home, Google Home will automatically instruct them to use the hand sanitizer beside the door. Then the smart speaker explains the safety rules of our home and then guides the person through each step of the protocol we follow whenever we return from outside. Ending with clean hands and door knobs that haven't been touched before the hand sanitizer was used.
    we use IFTTT to make it all work. A multipurpose sensor on the door triggers a routine to run on a Google home mini.
    The Google home speaks specific statements that are different if a family member arrived at home or a much different statement if a guest enters the home. This is done with family members cell phones being recognized they get near the house. And IFTTTs powerful ability to link devices that are not compatible makes the process and cost much much more palatable.
    Family members are reminder to sanitize immediately upon entering then after removing shoes they are told to wash with soap. Much different than a guest.
    I think this topic regarding the virus and smart home devices and applications with IFTTT is incredibly important right now helpful enough to improve quality of life and possibly even save someone. Finally there is hardly any content addressing the specific niche dottotech there are lots of ideas that need a knowledgeable person we can trust like yourself behind this content for it to have the most benefit and I hope these videos are so successful that they become "viral" after all sitting at home for so many days it's nice to feel useful and set up some automations that can help my family

    • @BonaFideWildLife
      @BonaFideWildLife 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @rj miller How did you trigger a routine on Google home mini? Google Assistant is only available on IFTTT's 'if' portion and not the end point.

    I LOVE these DO apps! DO Note is my favorite because it allows me to quickly add new note to Evernote, then swipe and add task to Todoist, then swipe and tweet, then swipe and post to Facebook...all within the same app and all in just a few seconds. To do those four things use to require me to open four separate apps, now I open one and its done. Sure, it only saves 30 seconds or so, but you'll be surprised how satisfying it is to not have to open multiple apps. #doappdoapp #castlestormer

      dottotech If you look on the website of IFTTT you will find many recipe's for that. For example when you upload a video you can make it so that is will post it on any kind of blogsite under a specific tag. I do that but that is just one of the many things.
      I suggest making mutiple recipes that trigger each other ;)
