Norman Stockwell on The Progressive Magazine

Norman Stockwell, publisher of The Progressive, joined PCIM Director Raza Rumi's class on March 3, 2022, to detail the history of The Progressive Magazine and the value of independent media in today's landscape.
The Progressive began as a voice for the progressive movement of the early 20th century. Its early values included getting corporate power out of government, supporting working people, women's' right to vote, and racial equality, while being fiercely anti-militarist.
Stockwell described the power of independent media as "Giving everyday people the power to create their own stories about what's happening to them and their communities."
