Linda Jue Q&A with Ithaca College Students

On November 1, 2022, Izzy Award judge and editor-at-large for 100Reporters, Linda Jue, joined Raza Rumi's independent media class via Zoom to discuss her experiences in the field of journalism and to answer questions from students interested in pursuing journalism as a professional career Linda Jue is editor-at-large for the investigative site 100Reporters and a contributing editor at palabra, an innovative news site published by the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She is also a reporting and writing mentor for the Fund for Investigative Journalism and an investigative reporting trainer for the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Journalism.
Linda was founding director and editor of the G.W. Williams Center for Independent Journalism, which mentored journalists of color, women and youth in public interest and investigative reporting. Linda has been at the forefront of nonprofit and independent journalism for 22 years, working on innovative journalism and media projects to strengthen the diversity and integrity of the field. Linda directed San Francisco State University's Community Press Consortium, the country’s first professional training program for ethnic and community journalists.
She was an associate of the Center for Investigative Reporting and an editor and associate producer at KQED/San Francisco Focus magazine. She was also Northern California correspondent for C-SPAN. Her work has appeared in San Francisco Focus, Los Angeles Times Syndicate, Toronto Globe and Mail, GEO, MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour, PBS’ Frontline and other outlets.
Linda’s work has earned two Thomas More Storke International Journalism awards & Western Regional Magazine Association recognition for excellence in feature writing. She also belongs to a group of SF Bay Area travel writers that has published several literary travel books.
