- The president of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of its capital, Abu Dhabi, has died, aged 73.
The UAE announced 40 days of mourning for Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who had been in power for 18 years, after succeeding his father in 2004.

I was there when Sheikh Zayed passed and he became President they both did great thing for Abu Dhabi... I remember the day I landed I was a teenager there were no trees they were planting trees building the roads streets and bridges there was sand as far as the eye could see their vision is great ... It has become very beautiful place to visit and live I remember the American school only had 4th grade and no school were built yet
