Way cool! I saw this train here in Glendive a few days ago! It had the 9802 70MAC on the rear here. I wonder where it was parked at since the bridge collapsed at Columbus between the time I saw it here and this video?
I remember hearing them talking to dispatch around 6:30AM about the issue with the 2nd unit at Winston siding. They ended up taking power from another train and tied it on the front end to get them into Helena.
It took TEN engines to get over that slight rise? Why, back in MY day, it would have taken maybe just TWO coal burners (of course, the trains weren't as long as they are now)! lol
Thanks airing and sharing the outstanding video with magnificent locomotives. Endeavors are promising .Bliss
Great shots.
ain’t no messin around gettin this over the hill 😎👍

Great Video! I was down there that day. Tried to make every train count because the the derailment.
That makes the both of us. I have another video to get uploaded of the last Laurel-Missoula the departed Helena yesterday morning.
Wow, beautiful view!
Thank you. This is why I love it here.

@@DieselTech8 Aha, that makes sense. Power gets swapped around a lot anymore with no roundhouse or service crews available.
@@BadlandNP yea its sad that they are slowly killing off the Machinist/Electrician crafts.
Dang, a Tier IV that wouldn't start? Just pile on the EMD power to help out.
Can not spell garbage without GE.
👍👍👍

That is the easy part of the climb. Not all the locomotives were running.
