Think you are from Belgium, right? Well you are a self educated man with a enormous "know how". We have the passion of old cars and photography in common. I think if you manage to find some old stock new parts they would be off better quality and fit. Doesn't seem to be as much attention to detail nowadays just cost cutting. Get yourself a set off flexible headed ratchet spanners would be very useful in places like fitting the anti roll bars bushes. Great video as usual!!
Nice! I have on my projects before made PCV lines using steel tube, if I take great care on measuring and bending I have made some pretty snazzy and sporty looking lines. And never have to pine over whether or not they will collapse. Still have to use rubber joiners. But I try to make the steel lines fit very snug, then the rubber hose joiners just act as a seal.
Hello Steve, nice work on the TVR, its what I call removing all the "spiders webs" (previous owners neglect) from a car. That W plate could it be turned around so the inlet faces the opposite side. Then the connection to the rocker cover will be shorter and it will need one or two joints. The joints themselves are under negative pressure so won't need clamping, maybe a dab of..........silicon, but used here for good reasons. On the subject of clamping, there is this tool which you can easily make yourself, that can pull wires and you can make your own clamps especially for this application. The clamps grip around the full circle and look neater. Check on TH-cam "Wire clamping tool".

For the PCV pipe you can bend some brake pipe and then need only need a small piece of rubber at each end,. And those crimp type hose clamps will be perfect

Hello. Great video. I had an old engine that was always bending pushrods, and the cause ended up being weak valve springs. Just a note in case it happens again. Also, a gasket on top and bottom of your W plate, perhaps??
you know the nuts on the anti roll bar maybe a ratchet spanner would be better and faster. but that all depends if there is room for the ratchet spanner to move in the area.

a lot of ford engines have the rubber seal on the sump plug. im not a fan of ford sump plugs people also use 13mm and round them off i used to use a 1/2" socket and tap it on its quite a tight fit but thats better not likely to round the bolt off

Thank you Steve.As usual a great Video but also very well done job. One comment on the cover for the bellhousing. If you build a kind of a notch at the deepest point of the cover, leaking oil has a chance the run out of the bell housing instead of staying inside. The old cover is a kind of cardboard and it sucked up the oil of the last decades already. By the way is there any tool existing wich is not in your workshop already? I thougt I'm good equiped in my workshop but now I know better. Thank you for sharing.
I too had my "bogus problems" with imports from the UK. They left the single market :( Funny thing, I bought a lot of electronics parts made in China from UK suppliers because it was easier and usually faster than buying in China directly and cheaper than buying from German suppliers. With all the import paperwork it's not feasible anymore.
Hi I have learned a great deal watching your videos, have you used a carburettor synchrometer on your weber dgas38 carb? I have used one on my essex and found that one bank is pulling 9hg and on the other bank 6 hg I have checked everything I can think of and can find now reason for this difference, any suggestions?
At 25:38 why don't you turn the W plate a 180°? so the connection is better in line with the valve cover. Beter even in het Engels gevraagd voor de mee lezers. 😏
Thanks for the comments, now that is a very good question. And to be honest I have no idea... These are square as the funnel is square, yet the question remains, why are the top funnels square? I have no idea, but will try to find an answer
@@D3Sshooter maybe it is for the looks? It is also interesting that both throttles open at the same time. Some cars had the second choke opening near full throttle for extra boost.
Looking very good. Too bad with the poor quality parts from race tech. Must be very annoying.. Good thing youre resourceful and get it bolted on nice anyway 👍 The air filter looks a bit small. Have you thought about fitting a bigger filter and if it might be less restrictive?
I know you miss Fleur. You keep using her collar. With all due respect, that mess you put together for the valve on top of the valve cover looks terrible. You should look into those clamps which are basically a spring you use a pair of pliers to put on: a lot less ugly. Give us an update on your other projects next time! Would love to know what's in the works.
К&N filters do have better performance but it's because they are less restrictive(more chance of dirt passing through) what is your reasoning to put them?

Hi, Steve those old copper gaskets have a rope interior. It might have been better fit. I'm rebuilding a classic Rover, learning a lot here! Thanks.
I guess you could spin the W plate 180 degrees to have a shorter distance to the PCV valve?

He did check the valve spring tension and they were all within spec.
