This is so gorgeous! I love the way Lasko really, as the title says, steps up, noticing their body language, realizing their fear, and confidently and effortlessly comforts them. And the subtle contrast of Lasko's partner to the only other water elemental we knew, Kody - how he talked about the power of storms and how he could use the strength in those, to Lasko's partner being afraid of them and knowing what a contradiction that is. I know this is a comfort audio and not a "sleep aid" but the comfort and the rain sounds could put me to sleep in the best way too!

That people are more than their "clichés" say about them. Within the Verse, there must be so many stereotypes about magical folks based on your core/origin (ie Lust Demons must want to sleep with people all the time and have to be kinky as hell, fire elementals got a temper and can't control it, just to name two which have been canonically brought up before). I can see people on DAMN orientation day going "Oh haha yeah, you're a typical earth elemental" and putting that person in a box. Which is something all of us do in real life, too, some more so than others. Which is why I love Lasko talking about nuance so much. That people are so much more than the label slapped on them (by virtue of their specific core). How many times must this Listener have heard "there is going to be a storm soon, must be your type of weather!" or "it's just a bit of rain, shouldn't this be right up your alley?" until they went 'I'm broken/weird about this, I *should* like storms!' and tried to refrain from showing vulnerability? (Hence their "I'm reliable, I've got this" cool cucumber mindset/vibes and bewilderment at Lasko's words). So I'm glad Lasko stepped up and showed them that, yes, they are allowed to be scared. Because they are a human being first and a water elemental second. The human parts dictate what they enjoy or what they fear, not their core and people tend to overlook at. It also balances things out between Lasko and his Listener imo, puts them on equal footing. There's not one person only doing the taking or giving (re: comfort and reassurance), but both of them opening up and relying on each other and stepping up when the other needs them to. One of the thing i love the most is that we are really getting devlopment of a real healthy relationship. Not as the tipical and overused cliche of the "subby" being protected and comforted by the listener, it diminishes the fact that we are all human and that we are not just one especific part of ourselves. Those audios tend to "play by the label" and yes, they are somehow funny, but they start to become tiring because you are not letting characters grow and they just stay like that. Lasko being the one comforting his partner here was really unexpected to me, since we all know he tends to be the more anxious, it show that he cares so much about them that not only he respects boundaries, asking if he can hug, but he even exposes his own fears to them, even after saying that he didn't want to show that side of himself because he thought that would make him be seen as weak or boring, "nothing special". Lasko becoming more comfortable with himself and him growing as a character outside the character we already know. And i love how he is not forcing himself to change who he is but slowly becoming more comfortable with who he is and how he acts around others, specially someone who finally loves being around HIM, rambles and anxiousness included. He is not changing FOR them but he is changing BECAUSE of them. We are complex, making things be unexpected and that's what is beautiful about humanity.

i loved this!! comfort audios have always been some of my favourites, and this dynamic is especially sweet to me. it really shows that real people are never just one-dimensional, they have multiple facets and being cool and calm MOST of the time doesn't mean they don't have any fears. human beings are more than that, like Lasko said, they come with all sorts of personality traits and strengths and weaknesses and also fears, and sometimes, some of those contradict each other and that's just how the cookie crumbles. btw, i just remembered that we already got a storm comfort video once, though it was ages ago, and that one was David comforting Angel, who is another famously bold and badass character, which only emphasises the point :) i really love the focus on creating REAL characters on this channel, REAL people with nuance, not stereotypes. that's one of the reasons why i was sucked into this universe so quickly :D anyway, 10/10, though i actually love thunderstorms (i'm more of a Freelancer chilling on the balcony to watch them), this was really sweet and wholesome and it's always worth it to pretend to hate thunderstorms for a bit so i can be comforted by sweet Lasko 🤍

There's not one person only doing the taking or giving (re: comfort and reassurance), but both of them opening up and relying on each other and stepping up when the other needs them to. One of the thing i love the most is that we are really getting devlopment of a real healthy relationship. Not as the tipical and overused cliche of the "subby" being protected and comforted by the listener, it diminishes the fact that we are all human and that we are not just one especific part of ourselves. Those audios tend to "play by the label" and yes, they are somehow funny, but they start to become tiring because you are not letting characters grow and they just stay like that.
Lasko being the one comforting his partner here was really unexpected to me, since we all know he tends to be the more anxious, it show that he cares so much about them that not only he respects boundaries, asking if he can hug, but he even exposes his own fears to them, even after saying that he didn't want to show that side of himself because he thought that would make him be seen as weak or boring, "nothing special". Lasko becoming more comfortable with himself and him growing as a character outside the character we already know.
And i love how he is not forcing himself to change who he is but slowly becoming more comfortable with who he is and how he acts around others, specially someone who finally loves being around HIM, rambles and anxiousness included. He is not changing FOR them but he is changing BECAUSE of them.
We are complex, making things be unexpected and that's what is beautiful about humanity.

i loved this!! comfort audios have always been some of my favourites, and this dynamic is especially sweet to me. it really shows that real people are never just one-dimensional, they have multiple facets and being cool and calm MOST of the time doesn't mean they don't have any fears. human beings are more than that, like Lasko said, they come with all sorts of personality traits and strengths and weaknesses and also fears, and sometimes, some of those contradict each other and that's just how the cookie crumbles.
btw, i just remembered that we already got a storm comfort video once, though it was ages ago, and that one was David comforting Angel, who is another famously bold and badass character, which only emphasises the point :) i really love the focus on creating REAL characters on this channel, REAL people with nuance, not stereotypes. that's one of the reasons why i was sucked into this universe so quickly :D
