    I had a Jungle carbine for years shot heaps of deer in NZ with it and for old times sake I bought an old lee Enfield to play with here, unfortunately its still in the cabinet, you have now got me enthused and will take it up to Scotland this year for a play. Years ago I watched a mate kill a stag up the Rumatukas at 400 yards 1 shot open sights.

    Mine is no1mk3 shtle 1914. Its been sported of course , the iron sights have been removed and put on a 11mm rail and 2x7 wide angle scope. Its a really good shooting rifle. Im using it this season for moose deer.

    The trick with these sights on the MKIII action is that you set it to 200 yards, zero it for 200 yards then aim low for anything under 200m. Meaning, it's bang on at 200m and you hold below the target for 100m and under, the old adage is pumpkin on a fence post for anything less than 200. It is meant for yards but the difference isn't much between 1 and 200 which is where you're shooting most of the time.

    Hey bro I’ve inherited the wife’s grandads BSA .303. This is the only video on TH-cam of one that looks same as mine and I’m trying to figure out how to remove the bolt so I can give it a good going over. Any advice or tips before I break something? Or even a breakdown video? 🤞🤞 I’m in the north island heading down to mount cook and few places next weekend for an explore (without the rifle)

    • @WildNZ
      @WildNZ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate if it’s the same as mine then the front part of the bolt which has the recoil lug and ejector etc should rotate. You basically pry that off the rail that it runs on and then the bolt should slide out. If that doesn’t quite makes sense or you are stuck find my facebook account “wild nz” and send me a message 👍🏼

    Good to see the .303, shame its sporterised but looks like parker hale barrel so may have been made that way. They're pieces of history, your family but also our country as they served with our lads in two world wars.

    Picked up a couple of deer bush stalking the true right - headed up from where the track dips in to the creek near the tit turn off.
    Suble jack is a nightmare - but there is always an easier way.
    Looked steep - were you on the true left ?
    Good effort
