Being born in uganda does not qualify someone to be a ugandan citizen unless one or both parents belong to the 65 indigenous communities. Its little tricky for many to figure it out.
Yes you’re right but this was recently amended! From the older position! This new position will now require one to apply for citizenship by naturalization

Hey Terry. Thanks for your informative video. I learnt a lot about the process to acquire citizenship of Uganda through the various routes. I had a question for my case specifically. I was born in Kampala, Uganda to Indian parents (both holding Indian passports at the time and today). Can I acquire citizenship solely based on birth? I researched this and it said that Uganda doesn't have 'jus soli' - the ability to acquire citizenship based on birth. What do you think?
