Beautiful talk. Jazaakum Allahu khayr. I used to misinformed and misguided on the shaykh in my early Salafi-leaning days. I can honestly say most Salafis are extremely misinformed on this subject. The likes of Sh. Bilal Phillips used to teach us that the sheikh promoted pantheism, wal 'iyadu billah.

Salafis cancel every ratio and logic in humans. Not my people.

9:42 We all have a divine mystery and have been placed as khalifa of creation
10:39 Animals in world of impulse/instinct, angels in world of spiritual reality without free choice
11:20 Humans are partly from animal as well as angelic worlds
12:00 We are forced to be free; can block out spiritual condition (atheism)
12:34 (Surat Al-An’am 6:33) Mushrikun of Makkah knew it was truth but could not integrate it with fear of losing place in dunya
14:54 Reality should be in our order but most of us are superficial
16:32 Tastiq (ascent (of status)) that takes place when evidence is seen
18:18 Hoping to receive some barakah of Shaykh Al Akbar ibn ‘Arabi just by mentioning his name
19:53 West will open their hearts to Islam through Ibn ‘Arabi (obsessed with mind but lost spirit)
22:24 Nobody in history of ulema has encompassed so many dimensions of human experience
26:51 LGBTQIA+: gender is merely manifestation in lower world which is part and parcel of metaphysical world - union results in generation of new level of being
29:44 Born in 1165; lived at time where Islam attacked from all angles
30:40 Born in Spain (Al-Andalus); Cordoba and native Seville were taken around his time of death
31:25 Lived through conquer of Jerusalem and then subsequent loss
32:25 Mongols moving through Asia but did not make it to Baghdad
32:49 Died in 1240 (Mongols had made it to Iran)
34:26 Ibn Arabi considered to be an ocean of divine secret
35:40 Fatah is witnessing divine reality
37:06 Ibn Arabi’s father was prominent political figure
41:02 Before embarking on world expedition, had extraordinary vision
42:25 Openings of significance bc others are able to recognize and receive clarity from them
43:34 Not an alema on earth that comes close to knowledge levels he had, known as a mystic
43:45 Studied with all great mashaykh of his time (asaneed and ejazzat testimony to this)
44:27 Settled in Damascus where he is now buried
45:40 Widely accepted by Sufis bc his system of relationship to other level made perfect sense
46:35 Other philosophers were limited by their minds
48:03 Aim of explaining this lifestory: realizing our deen is truth and has achieved highest level of explanation and truth that is humanly possible
48:23 Figures we have in our tradition, other traditions cannot even begin to imagine
51:36 Great awliya are inheritors of Rasul (to bridge message from God to man)
55:40 Uninformed critics believe he says world is God
56:00 Ibn Arabi’s message: world has no reality except by will of God and no existence without God
57:20 Confusion arises amongst those not well-versed in Sufi traditions
58:20 Contradictions do not exist; further dimensions experienced which uninformed cannot grasp
59:43 Hidden depths of Quran & Sunnah revealed which is hidden from most
1:01:25 Plunged depths of Rasul, unknown to most
1:01:45 We mustn’t forget that our limited understanding is not the reality
1:11:37 Great sufis of the past who made Islam what it is today

Unfortunately while I came to learn about the great master, I learned nothing, mostly because the speaker does not maintain a coherent line of speech but rather meanders an intersperses his tal with tangential remarks, much of them is Overwrought cliches.
