    Very informative video. All these myths have been buzzing in my ear since I started my pre-nursing journey. I work full-time hours flex and go to school part-time. There's no way I can't work because I have bills to pay. I plan on going for my ADN first then RN-BSN bridge program once I'm finished with my pre-reqs. I'm also in Phlebotomy school for added experience and I work in a direct care setting as an aide, which is like a CNA alternative without the heavy patient load. I'm familiar with medications, taking BP, doing venipunctures, and capillary punctures.

    This video is on point. I have heard every last single one of these myths and decided not to give into other people's experiences. I start school on 1/13 as an older student, mom of 5, with a full-time management job. God, my determination and dedication will see me through! You only truly fail from not trying and giving up. I'm excited!

    I have a kid and want to work as a CMA while I work on my ADN/BSN. My biggest goal is to be a PMHNP and I hear a lot how parents won’t make it even through BSN with kids and jobs… I know it won’t be as easy as someone who’s single and childfree but I’m determined to see it through. I really needed this. Thank you sm! 😭

      And you definitely can!!! You’ve got everything you need to make it: determination. Admittedly it’s days where I’m like “what did I do?” lol but for the most part I’m so proud of myself everyday I push forward a little more. Don’t let anybody stop you from getting that degree🫶🏽🩷

    Great video! I’m glad you touched on the previous hospital experience because I entered into nursing school with none being 21!!! Most of my classmates have experience and I definitely felt inferior at first but I know I belong ❤.

      Thank you!! I totally understand how you feel. I never worked in a hospital before so I couldn’t even tell you how to put the patient beds up/down lol. The good thing about nursing school, is by the end I bet I know how to do everything!! Don’t feel less than, you’re right where you need to be🫶🏽

    Where I’m at they require you to be a cna firsttt before getting in school

    • @AshantiPhylice
      @AshantiPhylice  4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Everywhere is different so yes some schools will want you to have experience first. It’s not a requirement everywhere though.

    I’m thinking about going back to school for nursing. I started years ago but switched to the administrative side of things gaining my masters in healthcare administration. Now I want to learn the clinical side of things!

    Yes! Especially about the associates degree! I was wondering way my advisor kept implying that I need to retake and take more classes. I soon realized that I was on the transfer pathway to get my BSN when I could’ve saved time but it was too late.

      @@AshantiPhylice girl yes! Next spring I’ll be graduating with my associates degree in science and transferring to a university next fall. I forget that college is still a business so it’s probably in the advisors best interests to make sure students take more classes or enough at whatever institution but what do I know 🤷🏾‍♀️

      Omggg that’s right around the corner! You’re almost done! Congratulations boo I love that. So inspirational for me. You gotta keep me updated how you’re doing. And as for the advisors adding classes I totally agree. It gives business move.

    When I went to school graduated in 2010. I had to be a CNA. You could get in without it. But things have changed.

    • @AshantiPhylice
      @AshantiPhylice  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh wow!! Thank you for sharing your side of things because I’m sure it’s not a one size fits all. How was nursing school for you?

    • @stacyexum9332
      @stacyexum9332 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @ it was tough. You had to learn time management like you stated. It was harder to work and go to school. It was M-F, 8-5:30pm. So you only had sat and Sun to study or work. But now I work full time, my children are older now, out the house. But I’m helping my husband managed a trucking business and my only issue with school is not having a teacher. Went a semester with it instruction but still had exams and I had to learn how to be successful without a teacher. This was hard due to I’m older, almost 50. But with God grace and mercy. He has been showing how to do. Keep up the good work.
