  • Long overdue part of the bike that I needed to address but finally got to it, after going off road plenty of times and needing to adjust it often, figured it was about time before something catastrophic happened.

This really helped me cut corners with my future decision on how I was gonna install my chain. I’m going with a x ring chain btw. I’m getting it here soon. This will be my first time. Wish me luck

Stock grom chain lasted me 2000 miles. It’s stretched af. Held up to aggressive abuse.

You never finished saying how long this chain lasted.

Do you not have to replace the sprocket at the same time?

Not at all, I replaced the front sprocket a while back already, the amount of where it will make a difference in is minimal and honestly for $15 I'm not bothered haha

Always always replace chain and sprockets as a set

@@Snowburnt depending on your sprocket they can last as long or even less than the chain itself. Especially with these smaller chains. If the wear isn't bad you could skip it but all you are doing is accelerating your chain wear and having to go back and change the sprocket later.
Unless you are just dirt cheap you should do them all at once.
