Just came across this. I'm using survivorcord xt which is a type 4 750 cord with 3 extra strands in it. My first attempt ended up being short by about 6 inches using the measurements for 550 cord. Just my advice that anyone using specialty cord allow probably 10 to 20 feet extra on the working strands. It'll prevent cutting too short and having to start over since a lot of specialty cord is really expensive. I'm combining this with the SOG belt buckle multitool. Definitely the ultimate survival belt if a little expensive.
Great tutorial, I finally got around to making a belt for myself. If anyone else is making a belt around for ~35inch waist (88cm) and doesn't want short pieces of paracord you can use at minimum 10m of the rope that goes through all 3 strand at the very beggining (in this video black) and 11m of the rope that is in the middle (in this video camo) instead of the ~12.5m as suggested. This will save you from some of the scraps and in case you have 100ft (30m) of paracord you can easily use it for 2 belts.
I used additional retention loops to create a place for my clip-on knife sheathe. You are right to use smaller cord. The 550, 425, 325, and 275 were all too thick to accommodate the space in the sheathe. I used 95 cord, and even that was borderline.
Just made my 2nd belt using this technique. It makes your fingers hurt. I took 2 days to make 1, its a long process. And just a side note, you should add a few inches to the 2 core strands. I had plenty side cord left and wanted to have a little more belt but with the measurements you give for the middle core strands are off a few inches.
How did you come to that length for the 1st cords? I'm a size 44 what size length Paracord for the 1st set or cords I know the 2nd multiply by 2 add 24
Perfect I been wanting a way to always have more than a bracelet’s worth of paracord on hand that I wouldn’t ever forget to take with me this is the perfect solution
Also I don't have a jig but i found that without one I can stick the buckle in a bottom dresser drawer and stick my feet against the drawer sitting on the carpet to hold the drawer shut. I can sit comfortably while keeping the buckle in place. It might not work for everyone but for me it was the best alternative to not having a jig. I can make a perfect 40 inch belt start to finish in under three hours just from watching this video.
To me it would be easier to hang the piece from about head height and eliminate the jig all together. Of course that would require standing up to tie it but it works great!
Hey! Did a bllack and ten one. Wasn't sure how to end ... lmao! It's very Corporate looking. Their clothes fall apart. Anywho see ya did the double core too so that should help me end. Maybe do a Blue speckled and Tan for boating next mo.
Leather Supply Stores have better buckles. Bought a Paracord Belt off Amazon and the buckle broke on my plastic banquet table leg. Really cheap stuff ! It 's my math table. I just hang them off my Kosi. And try not to step on the cords when pulling them through. Rubber bands help. Cheers! Thanks !
In the video, you have the weave be just 40', but in the picture tutorial on your website, it has you multiple your waist length by 12 and then add 6'. Is there any reason for this? Which one is correct?
Very nice. I made a couple of double cobra paracord belts in the past, before there were video tutorials for it. I haven't made any more because its so cumbersome to pass the hundreds of feet of cord through the loops. You make it look easy, any tips?
Hello! We recommend going off of custom waist measurements. Luke goes into a nice description of how to calculate around 30 seconds into the video: th-cam.com/video/-SpKpV9i6xw/w-d-xo.html. Let us know if that helps! 🪐
I would like to use this as a camera strap. The others I've seen for this are too narrow. I can replace the buckle with one D ring but how would I put a D ring at the opposite end?
I would suggest making the base setup more like a bracelet in that case. Before you start weaving, set up the core strands with cow hitches on both ends. Since this is a double-wide cobra, you will need to construct two "bracelets" side by side.
We have a photo tutorial for this belt on our website that includes the formula for determining how much cord is needed: www.paracordplanet.com/double-cobra-belt/

Man paracord belts are the best
They are durable and if you need paracord for any reason you got so much of it

Thank you. I previously made a 550 cord belt for my husband. He wanted another and im using 750 cord this time. This just saved me a huge headache 🥰

i like your video but it would be very helpful if you could put how many inchs of parcord i need per inch of waist. thank you..
Nice project and video! For my retention loop I used micro paracord and did a king cobra weave, turned out great. Thank you!

Great tutorial! I have the same jig and found it fairly easy to set up and complete. Thanks for making this video.

I have now made 4 belts thar are beautiful. Your video is the easiest to learn from. Thank you.

Can you make a video about various micro cord stiching patterns we can use on large weaves to spice up these big projects?
This is the first big project like this I’ve done and it turned out great
To me it would be easier to hang the piece from about head height and eliminate the jig all together. Of course that would require standing up to tie it but it works great!
Nice video thanks! This was just my second paracord project but I was able to make this without any problem and I'm happy with the result.
Hey thank you! Glad you were able to complete it.
I actually thought it was one of the best DIY tutorials for this belt.
Is there a paracord calculator or formula for figuring out how much cord you would need for specific sized belts, bracelets, necklaces, etc.?

4:52 The trouble of stringing through a long piece of cord is nothing compared to the callouses you get from untwisting the cord on the Slatts belt.

Done! +8 in. next time more cord on the way.
it would be better if you could just remain the camera on top view. but anyway thanks for the tutorial
Beautiful! I can't wait to make one.
I think background is too dark that's why your cords not clearly visible
Great Job Sir!!!
If I have 36 in the waist, which is about 94 cm, how many centimeters do I have to have a paracord?

In the video, I am making it for myself. You will want to make it for your own waist size.
where did you get your pullover from? like it very much :-)
K-Mart! 🤣
We want the sizes number of paracord thick
Great video, this is my next paracord project.
That belts gunna last a lifetime

Yes, the long cords is the hardest part about this design! You can tie your cord into bundles or "hanks" to make it a little easier.
Moving camera around so much and not being able to see the weaving close-up made it impossible to see what you were doing.
Fr
lindo este cinto mais quantos metros de corda?
What are the standard sizes to make for paracord belts

The idea that you will use the cord that is in your belt is silly. What's going to hold your pants? But I like the belt anyway.
Your voice reminds me of Jesse Eisenberg. (Great video btw)

@@ParacordPlanet Thanks for your reply. I'll try that. Happy holidays.
Very Nice 👍🇲🇦
I'm making a belt for a size 28. Could I use 42 inches for each cord or do I need more. Thanks

What size buckle please.
Hi Sherri! We used a 2" buckle which can be found here: www.paracordplanet.com/metal-alloy-belt-buckles-silver-or-gunmetal/
@@ParacordPlanet How wide was the actual belt?
@@gregcook2987 The belt ended up being about 1.25 inches wide.
Kindly use the different colors which have to be clearly visible
I'm allergic to wool, have and recommendations for me to get instead of that blanket?
Baby Boand Black
My dad has problems finding his belt so I looked for this kind of belt so I could give him something for his birthday
